Don't wanna be friends

The Aquarius guy I used to see never responded to the friendship I offered him. Ever since we met 9 months ago the talk of "being friends" is not something that I get from him. We have broken up and I offered him to be friends instead but he won't say anything to my offer. Although I know we are not meant to be friends because our attraction to each other is so strong that if we see each other one on one, we won't be able to control ourselves and get sexual again. I haven't talk to him for 4 weeks now and I got annoyed with him ignoring some of my text so I told him I'll back off and stay away for good and I offered him to just be friends but like always he won't say anything about the friendship part. I'm confused, I thought aquas would rather be friends than lovers— No?

@flowingwater oh I want him so bad! He is the one playing mind games with me and doing the cat and mouse..I got tired of it so I thought I'll back off until he man up. He would say he wants me one day yet would not see me. He used to be very attentive and communicating constantly but after we broke up and he popped up again he changed, he is more distant now, but I know he still want me but afraid of us rekindling whatever we had so I thought I'll stop but I'm willing to be friends to keep in contact with him if being lovers won't be possible anymore.

@busyeyes88 I'm not trying to contradict myself. I love the guy, like I said I'm willing to be friends with him if that is what he prefer, aquas are best in friendship than relationship right? And honestly we started as no label lovers, I even thought we were fwb. I just thought maybe he cannot accept my friendship because if he say we are friends there's no way he can still flirt with me like he always do.

Aquas feel very deeply. Friendship is great, but once real romantic feelings are involved, it's not possible.

Here's an analogy that might make sense to you; once feelings are involved, Leos don't separate sex from love. Aquas don't separate friendship from love. Yes, aquas often value friendships over lovers, but not within the context of relationships.

I recall advising you to let go of your aqua and mean it, and if he lwas serious about you he would come back and change his behavior. It sounds like you left but didn't mean it, and he senses that so continues to play games. Either that, or you're misinterpreting his behavior as cat and mouse when it's really jist the way he is.

No matter which way, neither of you is ready to deal with the other in a serious way. Until one or both of you gets real with yourselves about how you want to approach this, you'll both continue to hurt each other.

Yeah do not go in the FWB route, I had to learn it the hard way. Just move on..

Thank you all for the input on my confusion. It makes sense to me now, I knew that this might be the reason why, he can't accept me to be his friend, and maybe will never be friends. The feelings and what we had was so strong that it's impossible to turn it into something platonic. I will still care for him from afar. I've been praying everyday for him to be safe, I love this guy so much but I know letting him go is the best for both of us. I'll survive this feelings eventually.
