How would an Aqua act in this situation?

Here's my situation. I've known this aqua for about a year now. He seemed very interested up until around Dec. when he started ignoring me, but then he randomly started getting really adamant about my attention toward him a couple months after that. I learned that one of our mutual friends (I think I'm better friends with this person than he is) had talked to him about me, which I knew. I recently found out that the person told him I liked him when they talked, though. I'm assuming it was around the time that they talked that he started trying to get my attention again. Ever since then, I've been really nonchalant about him (which, honestly, just kind of happens. I don't know why I do it.)

So, Aquas, if you knew someone liked you, how would you act toward them?
Does how you feel about this person change how you act toward them? As in, romantically interested or not.

For the record... He will never say anything to me when I have people with me. When I'm alone, however, he makes a point to say hello to me. Last time I saw him, he kept talking to me trying to get me to stay outside I guess, but I was trying to go inside to talk to someone else. He's always got this look on his face like he's scrutinizing me and enjoying it, every time I'm around him. He's acted nervous, he's yelled at me from a distance, he's stood in one spot and pointed at me until I acknowledged him... I don't know. I only make it out to where he lives maybe twice a month and half the time I don't even see him. We've never exchanged numbers and he won't try talking to me otherwise (like through messaging.) I'm not really sure if he's interested or if he's just playing around because he knows that I am.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't pursue. So he may not intentionally be playing games with you, it may just be he isn't pursuing.

I'm also weird about people that like me. I have to basically like them first. If I don't like them first, and I find out they like me, I get really weird and distance. Mainly because I don't want to hurt their feelings.
