I think it's a really bad direction that tabloids and glossy magazines have taken in publishing photographs of celebrities with zoom lenses and pointing out some body flaw that they have, whether it be cellulite or a wobbly tummy or weight gain or whatever. It's a really bad message that it's sending out to everyone. It's saying to the young teenagers who are thumbing through these articles that the body perfect is incredibly important and that all flaws you have are gonna take away from you as a person.

I have been thinking for a while that it's just cr@p the way they plaster these pictures of well known actresses or singers and poke fun at them as if it's all so acceptable. The thing is that if someone was subject to this derision in a work setting, for example, it would be classified as bullying. The most recent one that got my attention was a spread where celebs were branded either Saint or Sinner in terms of whether their body had improved or not over a time period. Lindsay Lohan was branded a "Sinner" because - get this - she had _gained_ weight in the last few weeks. Now I had just read that she is on the brink of anorexia and is pretty underweight. So I consider this kind of trash that is on the main shelf of glossy magazines for all to leaf through in the shops as irresponsible and and just really low down and shallow of these editors to allow in their publications.
