I used to think it was all sparked by paranoia. Now, I'm starting to think it's not such a bad idea. But, I'm not willing to put the energy into prepping because I doubt I'll put up much of a fight when my times comes, whatever the cause of my demise may be. I'll just accept my fate.

Plus, if I get myself all prepared for an apocalypse, I'll have to worry about warding off those who try to ambush me. My only plan is to ambush other people until either someone kills me or nothing's left.

I'm hooked on the Doomsday Preppers show. Some of them just seem like lunatics, but some seem pretty smart and stable. I got the capricorn opinion of this, now curious to what you Aquas think about it.

i've actually not seen this show. so i went to look it up on youtube.
yeah they do some pretty lunatic stuff. lol but i dont blame them for stocking up. stocking up on food, supplies, clothing, medical supplies, ect.
i feel that resources are very important, whether that's in stocking up day by day buying canned foods, piling them in extra cabinets, extra sheds and if they have a basement that's where it's really handy. not everyone has enough room in their homes though, unfortunately. So, individually, and even as a community, it's good to pool together and even share information to prepare for the future.
good stuff to stock up on are usually extra batteries, candles, even buy a generator if there's an affordable one. People having black outs in their community usually have candles handy. Better to have a gas stove than electric. Good to have barbeque supplies as well.

I think the people on the show have gone a little overboard personally with money expenditure and efforts. On the other hand I am fully into the mindset of being prepared for situations and such and will typically have a few jugs of water, a sleeping bag, jackets etc in my car. I do find survival stuff very thrilling, have a bail out bag and also have probably a months worth of food stashed away with ample amounts of water, and the usual items for protection as well.
