There's the 3 Saturn returns, if you live to 90, but there's Saturn squares and oppositions every 7 years. So how did you experience them? Im interested in data, how do things work out for most people. (I realize this is not about houses but the main board is so overcrowded and l figured this was the best alternative)

---

http://astrodharma.org/2013/02/three-cycles-of-saturn/

"Why did you come here? To discipline your karmicly inherited talents, master your karmicly inherited wounds and, thereby, to individuate into a uniquely, inspiring emissary of the Absolute. This means evolving through the three basic senses of self: Provisional, Individual and Meditative.

1) Age 0-29: Development of Provisional sense of self.

2) Age 30-59: Development of Individual sense of self.

3) Age 60-89: Development of Meditative sense of self.

With some exceptions — depending on one’s karmicly inherited and freely developed ability to witness their ego — most people proceed from the generic, happenstance commitments of the teens and 20’s to the self-reckoned, individuated commitments of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s to the world-bridging, “mad-enough-to-be-mortal; sane-enough-to-disappear” commitments of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.

Soul Individuation Cycle #1

First Breath: (Saturn conjunct Saturn) Knot of destiny defined.

Age 7: (Saturn Square Saturn) Child learns to discern between right and wrong, fantasy and reality, and learns the basic rules and the consequences of breaking them. Development of depth perception needed to cross the road unaided. First testing of boundaries and the status quo.

Age 14: (Saturn Opposition Saturn) The dawning of a provisionally separate sense of self. First stirrings of healthy opposition to authority (puberty) and the creation of personal rules.

Age 21: (Saturn Square Saturn) Learning to deal with the world in its own terms and become accountable. Seeds of dissatisfaction birth new goals.

Age 29: First Saturn Return. This is the threshold of astrological adulthood. Every planet in your chart has now been squared, opposed and conjoined by Saturn, enabling you to become free of indiscriminate rebellion against – or robotic allegiance to – one’s social and familial conditioning. The provisional sense of self yields to a degree of sovereign direction and destiny. "

Me personally :

Age 7/ 8, l found it really hard, they're my first real memories at school, and as a person, l finally felt like l could function, go to school alone, think, act, take responsability.

Age 14/15 : l felt free like never before and enjoyed life like crazy. If l could go back, l'd relive those 2 years forever....

Age 21/22 : dropped out of Uni and just did my own thing, life is too short to be a pawn. Had a few dangerous experiences with drugs and a street fight.

Age 29/30 : l had financial problems, took risks that put me in debt (Saturn Leo....heeee likes to gamble ?)

Age 36 : coming to terms with my place in society, had to keep the lowest profile ever, no more fun.

I'd love to participate.. but so far, this is over my head :/
Check your exact degree of Saturn, then check the ephemeris for the year in question, first, 1996.

http://www.findyourfate.com/astrology/ephemeris/ephemeris.html

And think back to that time, what changed, was there a change etc...
Saturn in 11° Capricorn

I looked at that year on the link.. but I can't decipher what that is saying at all :/

I also likely will not have much memory of 1996.. My memory is awful and I have very little memory of my childhood for some reason.

Guess I can't take part in this one, Sorry.

So l checked, and the square happens in April 97, when Saturn reaches 11 Aries.

May 2004 Saturn reached 11 Cancer.

Age 7: This was a good time for me. 1st and 2nd grade years for me. It's interesting to me, because I was just thinking about my 2nd grade teacher the other day. 1st grade was fine and dandy, but my 2nd grade teacher, she really liked me. I guess I was her favorite student and she liked me being around her and helping her with things. It made me uncomfortable because I didn't and still don't like being close to people. I just don't like to open up much. So the next year in 3rd grade, and every year after that I tried my best not to stand out because I didn't want to get any "special attention." I didn't want anyone getting too close to me. I didn't want my teachers to like me too much if that makes sense.

Age 14: Pretty crappy time for me. I hated school and dropped out. I needed time to myself to "recharge" I guess. I just wanted to be free and didn't want any responsibilities. School was too much of a responsibility. School and boys put my mind in a whirlwind lol.

Age 21: The recession came, my spouse lost his great paying job and I feared for our stability. My son had to live with his Dad and it hurt me to be away from him for so long without him hearing my voice or seeing my face. Out of anxiety I joined the US Coast Guard thinking I'd find stability there.

Age 29: I am currently 29 and all of my focus goes into my career and rebuilding my self spiritually to become a better person. I meditate when I can and put all I have into getting into my dream career. My Saturn return is due in December 2016 and last until the summer of 2017. I have no idea why my Saturn return has to be 9 months. I just hope it is not more than I can handle. Cause I feel I have already been given more than I can handle.

Don't remember much from age 7

Age 14 - I was depressed. My step-brother in my dad's new 'family' was born and I hated him pretty bad. I started an anarchy against my parents and school, my grades dropped really low and I haven't really been able to get myself together since then. I'm still a relatively bad student. But I was quite proud of myself back then, it gave me a feeling that nobody's in control of me. What else? I made up an ultimatum for myself - either I had to grow up good looking or if it failed, I'd just have to die. Sounds so ridiculous considering that you can't really change the way your face looks. But I had a weird perception of things back then. Overall, bad times.

Age 21 - My bday was a month ago. I'm not even sure how I feel, I'm pretty lost in the world, constantly being afraid of getting depressed. Or maybe I am already, I don't know. But it's not that bad, I think I'll get over it. Pretty bipolar feelings about myself.
Damn, you obviously have a heavy Saturn. Most likely strong difficult aspects. My Saturn exile (age14) was great because my Mars is opposite Saturn, so this opposition between authority and my personal power was finally reversed, authority was on my side for the first time. You obviously have the opposite, your natal Saturn is probably favorable to you.

We all get depressed in our teens and surrounding years! We shouldn't be..but there are so many older and therefore stronger people in the world, we obviously get crushed. I'd like to analyse your Saturn tho, that sounds problematic.

I don't understand how to use this, can you do a quick tutorial on how to read it?
Saturn takes 29 years to orbit the sun, it kind of defines your position in society, who you are, your maturity level, the dues you pay to have your place in society. Every 7 1/4 years it makes an aspect to your natal Saturn, because 7x4=28. It's the 4 corners of the sky, first square, opposition, 2nd square, and conjunction. By age 29, you've experienced every aspect of Saturn, so you know exactly who you are in society, you're a "full citizen" kind of thing. Mature and responsible. The sign and house of your natal Saturn reflect the type of adult/person you are.

Each aspect, the squares and opposition, (and even the trines), marks a stage in your personal development. The first one is at age 7, the first contact, with school. The second one is like a resistance, a rebellion against society, age 14/15. The third one is a marker of the seriousness you will have to endure all your life, you get serious about your career usually, age 21/22. And finally the Saturn return, age 29, where you sum up all your efforts, you think back to how you got here.

Then it starts over again, age 36, you're no longer a young adult, you probably have kids, or a good job, or a business. Age 43, the second opposition, this is where people have a midlife crisis, because Saturn is in exile (opposition), just like in teenage years. It's when you rebel against your condition.

Etc...?

Um saturn pisces retrograde in 11th house of Capricorn

7- I learned the cruelty of children, getting teased for my appearance etc. I felt grown-ups were too serious. And why couldn't everyone be friends?

14-I felt free as a bird. I let my sexuality run wild and I paid the consequences of all my actions eventually. Started smoking, drinking sneaking out, tagging walls, anything to be a rebel of good girls in society. Severally depressed because I wasn't feeling fulfilled. I thought this would fill me up but it brought me down because I knew there was more to the world just this. I didn't know what though. A few years later had a serious mental breakdown.

21- First full time job, paperwork from schools, insurance first time I felt like an adult truly. And scary because inside I feel like I am still 16. I embraced the part of my I tried to run from so desperately and now I'm pretty much a hippie and loving it. I found my life purpose. And I will open up an herbal shop in the future. I want to make a positive impact on mankind. Live free of the negativity. Depression/anxiety has calmed down since my use of healing herbs.

So far that's where I'm at.

Gee you have a rather unusual path. Don't worry about the return, it's not intense the whole time, it depends on the specific aspects to your chart. There will be a few difficult weeks, then you get used to it, then maybe some more difficulty, once or twice, and it's over. You will feel different. Usually people start to really LIVE because they realise their time is limited.

And it seems your first square is well aspected, but the second one isn't...you can look forward to the next "first square" in 2023!

That's awesome, the perfect embodiment of a "serious" Pisces ?. And it fits that you want to conteibute to humanity with your 11th house!

I too feel like l'm 16, well 15 actually. Because it was the best time in my life and l was the most in touch with myself and humanity. I've told this to a few friends, that they should meditate and connect with their 15 year old self, find out what life was really about, and stay like that forever. They snapped out of their depression or "slumber " and they had a new zest for life, they were unrecognisable ?. I think it's the way to go.

I also have a very tight Mars-Saturn opp

And Saturn trine Sun

No other aspects except the 'generational' ones

5th house Saturn

By the next year it's going to square my Mars, then a year later conj my Capricorn Moon and opp Venus at the same time. I'm scared, sounds like hell.

I actually think my bad times are more associated with my opposition transits from Pluto. It has been slowly transiting my personals since 2008 or so, I believe. Now I'm having a Pluto-Sun opp transit and I've been feeling down quite often. Well, more like bipolar, one day I'm happy, the next I'm close to getting suicidal. Maybe it's Pluto, not Saturn.

Yeah those are the two you have to watch out for, check regularly. The slow malefics...the other malefic is Mars (fast), and sometimes Uranus is considered one. The real big deal is when they transit a major planet like Sun, or Saturn, and also the ANGULARS, when they transit 1st, 4, 7 or 10.

Lucky you — sounds like so much fun.
