What the shit are houses?

No seriously this is one of those awkward moments where it's like they just say "check yur houses check yur houses!" and I'm just like... ok how dod I do that? Seriously?

This website... "explains"... I put that in quote because the funny thing is, they don't actually explain shit when you really think about it. They start off by saying: "The 1st house, referred to as the Ascendant"

Oh GREAT this /makes sense/. A reference an actual sign! Hallelujah! So let's look at what sign the next hou- "The 2nd house: money earned and material goods."

Uhm... um... okay... that's nice and all. But uhm... the first one you said was the ascendant. And this one... isn't anything?

"The 3rd house: immediate surroundings, siblings, short trips, and studies."

See this one too? Does anyone see my dilema. I don't want an explanation of what a given house is. i want an explanation of what /the houses themselves, as a concept, are/. Are they the signs or planets? If so then which is which I'm confused?

Here's a good site for this. You have to register, but it's free and you can keep up to 4 different people's charts in your account. It calculates your houses and natal chart aspects.

Ok I figured it out all on my own, as usual. Really shouldn't expect any different especially as a Lord of Light, but anyways.

Ok so for all those still wondering(copy and paste these links):

These are the houses right, so if you go to a calculator to calculate your chart and you see something like this:

The green and orange lines as you can see, match the first picture above. The orange lines are the Ascendant and Descendant. The signs on the edges that are circled in red rotate based on your individual chart. If you use a calculator you'll notice these will be different for you based on your own birth time. So like, notice how the orange line falls on Scorpio and Taurus? Aka my Rising is Scorpio and Descendent is Taurus? Well on your chart, the lines wouldn't move. Instead, those signs on the edges would rotate. So you'd have a different sign where scorpio is placed on the edge(again circled in red).

Hopefully this clears shit up so you know how to figure out where you houses are placed or whatever.

All your planets surround the 1st house, which means you're focused on your own being, your personality, your looks, your success and journey. Which is clearly the case what with you calling yourself a Lord of Light, whatever that is, but wtv 🙂

The 4th house is your home, your private life, your family, your roots and ancestors. Your 10th house is career, social status, reputation.

You should be an actor or similar. You did not come into this world to just be "part of the gang" or help others, or work for others. Your efforts shoudl go into your personality, your skills as an artist/actor/writer/sports person...you're doing the right thing.

I see that your Pluto in Scorpio is in your first house, making you even more Scorpionic than your Scorpio ascendant would do on it's own. Words that come to my mind for this placement are "transformation through self, and/or self expression."
