Astrologers always say that a 12th house placement is really powerful as this relates to some kind of gift from the heaven to the chart owner but this house is said to be related to hidden things and the subconscious so how can someone unfold these gifts?

For example, I have Venus in the 12th house and in most of the articles I read astrologers say that someone with this placement would find great joy through meditation or even receive messages.

Is this true?

My placement " locked " in the 12th house is kind of the same as my South Node (past live).

I have Venus in taurus in the 12th and South Node in the 2nd house Cancer.

I have a deep connection with music, I've had a weird intense experience when I tried to meditate (I saw a white strong light), I have a strong attraction to the Piscean stereotype, I normally attract people who has some kind of depression or mental problem going on.

I would like to know what a well-aspected Venus can provide. My Venus trine Neptune in a tight orb, so it gets a boost.

How could I make the most of this placement? I have a Pisces MC and I feel like its somehow connected. I've been studying astrology almost everyday for a 1year and a half, still counting...But im not able to extract these kind of infos in my own chart, im able to do that for another person but not for myself.

Yes, I meditate and even teach it to others. I do yoga too. I find all of that an awakening, a tapping into a power that others call the zone, where you feel you understand the hidden and can do the impossible.

This is a great placement for healers and self healers. Time spent alone is never wasted if you're trying to understand your 12th house placements more fully. Just be open to what the universe may be telling you. Your insight and intuition will usually be right. I don't mean we're all psychics, but we just operate on a different plane from everyone else a great deal of the time. It's actually better for us to be so. It's what we were born to do.

I feel it's the opposite tbh. If I were to advise 12th Housers (as one, myself) I would say hang out with people, see what they notice about you. Any time spent alone: record what you feel or think by yourself. At least for me, that's what I do. 12th Housers tend to fail when they go it alone, because we deceive ourselves.

Now its getting confusing.

Speaking about my experience, I NEED to be alone to recover, I noticed that when Im travelling or need to be around people the whole day I feel exaust, my energy is drained but when I got home from work, turn off the lights and put some music, I feel like my battery is recharging and I go to my world, I think about my plans, goals, about my life and etc...But I need to be alone in order to do that.

Well I respect that, there are any number of possible explanations in your chart for that I'm sure.

I just think anyone who's energy is more visible to others than it is to their own selves, is better off not trying to work through that alone. In that position, I would get an outside view to help with my perspective.

I've always had problems to know how others perceive me, Astrology helped me a lot with this.

Maybe my Scorpio Moon feels good in solitude and with this sense of privacy and its in my 6th house...So this could explain my need for it.

My 12th house is in leo, but my leo planets are in the 11th

Would the same be applicable, in refrence to unlocking, or understanding it?

I also have Venus in the 12th house. What do you mean by "receive messages"?!?!

Yes... meditation works wonders on me. But... I also think it would help anyone.

I don't know if I have a gift from the heavens, but I have heard that when you have 12th house Venus, it could feel like you are highly protected (by guardian angel, so to speak) and it does feel like a charmed life or like you are extremely lucky. And that really resonates with me when it comes to my love life.

Yeah, I can totally relate with the " guardian angel " thing, normally the special people I met are somehow brought to me, the perfect place and the perfect time...Like if I deeply ask for a specific type of person weeks later I will meet someone just like that.

When I say " receive messages " is something like...I was in a moment where I didn`t know what to do with my, I just put some random songs to play I went for a walk, I wasnt even paying attention to the musics...Suddenly in the middle of a random music (Kendrick Lamar) a woman's voice sing " Where are you going, you should be slowing now...where are we going, we should be growing now..." and after this day I changed my approach towards life since then everything improved.

Your 12th house unfolds automatically its how in tune are you with it. The subconscious grows every day and we either grow with it or rot it away.

The 12th house is more of a state of mind. Planets there make you feel like they can't be expressed or something might go wrong but its because of your state of mind.

I have a 1st house mars. Im not an athlete nor a military man. BUT when I have a goal in mind I attack it. Might run outta go go juice but I attempt it. In the 12th house one may not act because one feels defeated. The state of mind is skewed therefore the Martian energy is stifled. If the mind is open than the Martian energy could function much higher than my 1st house does.

With Venus, you may not have a clear view on what makes you feel love or what your attracted to. Your state of mind may make you feel like that love doesn't exist. But doing some inner work and letting things go spiritually may help you find a deep love. One that is far more sensual and different than the regular lovey dovey stuff.

Just explore ya self
Thanks!

Yeah, I would say that you are right but it was before I got into Astrology. I had trouble knowing how people perceived me, why I love and attract a certain type of people and etc.

But Astrology cleared my vision and helped me to understand a lot about my Venus in the 12th house.

I still having a feeling that im missing something about this placement in my life. Everytime I read " Venus in the 12th house " or look at this house in my natal chart, I feel that Im missing something...a message, a gift, a curse, a warning...something that I can't explain.

My Venus is in Taurus and trine Neptune in a tight orb, so I believe that it has a good effect in my life or will have but I still don't know what it is...

And I have a Pisces MC btw and Quintille the same Venus. Astrologers say that a Quintille indicates a talent...but I dont know...

Since it's about hidden things, it's more of something that's right in front of you but that you can't grasp,

it's some forms of tool that is helping you along your whole life but you will not recognize it and will long for something you've had all along
Yeah, I believe in this too but have to be a way to open this door by yourself...How can I identify this? Im worried that it could be something life changing and Im wasting time without acknowledging it.

As this is in my 12th house, maybe Pisces people could show me the light or something like this...what do you think?

Interesting thread!

Been reading up on 12th house recently as my Mars is in Scorpio there. Something I've noticed is it seems as if every article says something different about the effects, but a common theme is hospitals or psychiatric wards, prisons, self-medication and addictions. Tiz, is that what you mean about deluding ourselves? Sometimes the need for feedback from trusted others is invaluable for me.

There is a tendency to be very intuitive and be able to just "get" people. I agree we tend to gravitate towards water dominant people, especially Pisces and Scorpios for myself. From studying this placement I've learned to trust my instincts, our subconscious will guide us when we quiet our minds...

@ raad182 Alone time and music are daily necessities for recharging ourselves! My Libra moon fights with me over this because I crave company and socializing as well.

I feel lucky to have 12th house energy, we're naturally empathetic and somewhat the "old souls" of the zodiac.

🤗
Yes, we I am socializing I can only see two types of people...the ones I admire and the ones IDGAF this is why I hate socializing, its rare to meet someone admirable these days...

Spend more time by yourself self reflecting deep thoughts. Find who you really are within. I don't have a desire to be around people all the time.. it's just me.

A majority of my time (when not busy with life), is spent alone pondering in my feelings. I could literally wallow in them forever. Unfortunately that's not always good thing if you go too deep.. it's hard to get out, so know your limits.

Be around people who are more willing to express their emotions/feelings. Water signs and/or people with strong water placements. Most of my friends are water/earth or a combo of both. My ex, father of my child, is a Pisces sun with his chart half Scorpio half Pisces. I thank him the most for helping me unleash my 12th house and watery planets. I feel everything, and I express myself to others about how something feels I also let my tears fall but the greatest out of this? I have visions.

I know when something will happen before it does and I try to let others know. My intuition is high and the vibes are strong.

I'm probably one of the few aquas who's always in their feelings. There are moments I get lost in a daze and the Pisces has to pull me out. I end up drifting back and forth like a dream until I'm completely consumed.
I'm also constantly always in my own head and thoughts. It took me a long time to work on finding a balance between my inner world and the outer world, because when I'm alone in my head for too long or too deep, my ability to socialize properly with people in my interactions decreases. I only have one pisces placement though, in venus, and my chiron is in the 12th. My chart is water and air dominant

I still have a big issue with learning to really accept some of my emotions and learn to productively deal with them though. I find that if I don't understand them, or if I don't want to, I just try to run away from my feelings instead.

Do you have any advice for working on that?

I have my chiron in the 12th house. My venus is in pisces. I'm always lost inside my own head and have trouble understanding all my emotions. I have a good sense of other people's emotions and I can tell if something is off about them usually. I need time alone to recharge and I do spend a lot of time alone in general. Being around a lot of people for a long time or the wrong people drains my energy a lot.

Anyone else have their chiron in the 12th house or knows what this does to a person?

Sun,Moon and Venus in the 12th here - and all in Cancer. As much as I love introspection and solitude and delving into the realm of my imagination and spirituality, I find that I get terrified after being alone for a long time and need to go out into the real world and connect with people. Unfortunately, my shyness and insecurities get in the way of that. Used to suffer from severe depression and anxiety circa 2009-2012 and eventually hit rock bottom in early 2013. However,it was from then on that I started rising to the occasion and picked up the pieces...and ran with it! I am getting more confident each day now, which I consider a blessing. Just recently got involved with my med school's Toastmasters club (for about 4 months now) and it has truly done me wonders in terms of going out there and being more comfortable with myself around people. What surprises me even more is that I'm told I have talent in it...something which I never believed I could do.

Anyway, I noticed there have been a lot of changes going on with my life gradually. Anything in my chart to suggest it? I have been recognised by professors for my photographic memory (which no one knew about till recently), people have been noticing me and mentioned that I have gotten more attractive lately,etc.. Are there any transits possibly indicating these? Or am I slowly growing into my Leo Rising (conjunct Chiron)

By Donna Cunningham ''The 12th house reveals a Rising Sign’s hidden agendas. For instance, with Sagittarius Rising, Scorpio would be on the 12th. Thus you might discern that Sagittarius’ preaching about morality, ethics, or religion may conceal a desire to control others or the self.

Leo Rising puts Cancer on the 12th, and behind the show of seeming confidence and even conceit lies a great deal of shyness and insecurity—that’s why they need so much applause. You can learn a great deal about any Rising sign by using Rod Chase's technique of studying the 12 signs.

During a transit to 12th house planets, the secret will come out. When politicians’ dirty secrets are revealed, their careers usually go down in flames. An example was Senator John Edwards, in the 2008 presidential campaig. National Enquirer began publishing rumors of an illegitimate child, he finally revealed (on 8/8/08) an affair he had 2 years earlier. Pluto opposed his 12th house Sun and Mars in Gemini.

One caution: it isn’t wise to confide your secrets to just anyone—pick the person and the timing very carefully. Often a professional counselor or spiritual advisor who is sworn to confidentiality is the best place to start sorting things out and just do things as they seem fit''.

By Don McBroom, ''Twelfth House Planets typically possess a decidedly "behind the scenes" flavor when compared with normal planetary energies. I’ve observed a consistent interpretive overlap between a planet in the 12th House and what is suggested by the retrograde interpretation of that same planet. It is as if the retrograde phenomenon of restrained expression (easily remembered mnemonically as Rx—Restrained eXpression) exerts its influence over the planet.

For example, Venus (the planet of social expression, relationships, and aesthetics) in the 12th may interpretively feel almost indistinguishable from a natal Venus Rx. In both cases, the avenues of social expression are relatively restrained, subdued, or suppressed—and thereby not easily utilized or demonstrated.

When a 12th House Planet is also retrograde natally, the feeling of suppression/repression/restraint is even further amplified. Consider Venus in the 12th and also retrograde natally: the oppressive feeling of social restraint or being detached or disconnected from society becomes even more challenging in its social expression. It may, in fact, be easier to internalize rather than to socialize.

Plus, we must consider the placement by sign and aspects to any planet in the 12th as we evaluate its overall impact. Just imagine a 12th House Venus Retrograde in Virgo and in difficult aspect to Saturn Rx! We could easily hypothesize how the father's influence (or absence) might have reinforced the social challenges by being overly critical or creating unattainable expectations.

Thus far, we’ve talked about planets in the 12th. Similar influences also impact the planet(s) ruling the 12th. We could reasonably prefix each 12th house interpretation with, “When [insert planet name] is in or ruling the 12th house, its normal planetary energies are subdued, reserved, or restrained.”

While the Sun and Moon never go retrograde, this interpretive perspective still applies. When one (or both) of this dynamic duo are sequestered in the 12th house, major components of individualistic expression are challenged, reserved, or restrained''

More here - http://www.noeltyl.com/techniques/070228.html

Wayman Stewart, ''As children, the approval of our authorities means everything to us. So, discard these traits we do. But, any metaphysician or psychologist worth their salt will tell you that repressed or disowned energies never disappear. They are merely re-energized and projected out into the world. This is what happens to our 12th House sign and/or planets. We disassociate from them and begin seeing them out in the world, instead of in ourselves. It’s not exactly the way in which we project our Descendant and 7th House Cusp sign, which are both opposite the Ascendant. This becomes a clear dynamic that we work through in our relationship to achieve harmony. The 12th House operates differently. On the lower octave, it can make us victims of the traits that put so much energy into disowning.

The Leo Rising individual, for example, might feel as if they’re constantly coming up against the needy, moody negative habits of others, in a way that’s reminiscent of their 12th House Cancer cusp. But, they can actually be the ones who are the constant drain on others, if unevolved, with an endless demand for attention and reassurance that’s not unlike Cancer’s potential for self-absorbed neediness. Someone with Mars in the 12th House might perpetually feel threatened by others’ temper or aggressiveness. But, they can unconsciously express their own anger in toxically passive-aggressive ways that make others feel uneasy and drive them away. Then, they feel like “everyone’s mad at them” for some unknown reason''.

Yes, I meditate and even teach it to others. I do yoga too. I find all of that an awakening, a tapping into a power that others call the zone, where you feel you understand the hidden and can do the impossible.

This is a great placement for healers and self healers. Time spent alone is never wasted if you're trying to understand your 12th house placements more fully. Just be open to what the universe may be telling you. Your insight and intuition will usually be right. I don't mean we're all psychics, but we just operate on a different plane from everyone else a great deal of the time. It's actually better for us to be so. It's what we were born to do.

I get a lot of messages from my dreams all the time.

all my dreams usually include the closest people to me, my son, my husband and my mother in law, and to some degree, my sisters, and their children. my mom and my dad too. sometimes my grandparents (but they died) and also from my husband's grandparents too, (everyone I love dearly is connected to me even by his family)

Yes, dreams can be relevant with 12th house placements IMO.

To be honest I really wish I could give you direct advice but til this day I'm still figuring out myself. I'm a degree away on the cusp of aqua/Pisces with 12th house, and Pisces Venus.

Since I can remember I've had trouble being grounded because I'm always switching between my reality and fantasy land. I find hobbies that keep me grounded but where I can also combine both of my worlds. Running, painting and reading help me out because it's all here and right now but my imagination is able to let go. Life itself is still a huge journey for me. I'm also a huge introvert, INFP, that personality already has a rose colored perception of the world. Too busy seeing the good in people. My biggest drug is music, when I really need to let go and I want to be consumed by my dreams; I grab my headphones, lay down and get lost in the music. I can be like this for hours, days even.. it washes out the noise thoughts problems task etc

So that's why I find it's important to be around people are like minded as you are but always make time to be by yourself in a grounded hobby to discover who you are.

Those sound like good hobbies to do. I'm too lazy to exercise lol..I like art but I don't know if I'd make that time investment if I buy the supplies. A few months ago I was getting really inspired and was interested in watercolour painting but then my interest died down. I love reading too but I don't have time to read for leisure because of school right now. I think I just need to stop making excuses for myself and actually make time to immerse myself in a hobby.

I'm an ISF/TJ and I know have a few friends who are INFP or ENFP. They're all very creative in some way
