1.How long did you believe in Santa and what is your sign?
2.Do you still believe in him in spirit?
3.Was there a particular incident that occured when you were a kid that sort of made you start questioning his existence? lol

I believed in Santa until I was eleven which is pretty old lol I accidentally caught a glimpse of my dad on the balcony changing into his Santa gear lol I got thirsty in the middle of the night and was trying to get myself a drink of water. I felt really bad like I've just seen something I wasn't supposed to see. I was shocked more than anything and didn't quite know what to do so I just went back to bed without confronting him or anything because that would have hurt his feelings a lot...

And yeah that's how I discovered the truth lol The following year I told my parents that I didn't want any more Christmas presents so we started donating mine to charity instead.

But I have a little sister who is 8 and she still believes in Santa Claus so I want to do whatever I can to help her keep that fantasy/dream alive because it's wonderful to believe in magical things like that and no child should be deprived of that excitement and joy.

So yeah if you don't mind sharing please tell me about your experiences with Santa growing up 🙂

I think I was around 8 years old when I stopped believing in Santa, if that's what you want to call it...I guess it's always been one of those believe/disbelieve things. I need solid proof in order to fully believe in something but it's hard not to get swept up in believing that their really could be a real Santa...maybe that's just wishful thinking? 🙂 I'm A Sagittarius btw!

Ok this is gonna sound really embarrassing but I was actually 14 when I found out it was really my parents bringing me the gifts on Christmas lol I really had no clue until then.

2.Do you still believe in him in spirit?
I can definitely sense something magical in the air around Christmas time. People seem a lot more kinder lol

3.Was there a particular incident that occured when you were a kid that sort of made you start questioning his existence? lol

I was snooping around in my mom's room (looking to borrow a cardigan of hers) when I found all the letters I'd written to Santa over the years inside a showbox tucked under her bed lol I didn't confront her either. I just kept this secret to myself for the same reason (to avoid hurting her feelings) 😢

I'm an Aries.

idk how old i was but i remember thoroughly questioning my mama on how santa got in our house since we didn't have a chimney. or why the reindeer didn't eat the carrots i put out for them. or how he went around in the world in one night or was keeping tabs on peeps all year, etc. shit just wasn't adding up. you can only use magic as an excuse so many times. then i found her writing "from: santa" on some gift tags so of course she made up some shit like santa needed help sometimes and i was like nah, stop. 😛

i believe in the christmas spirit and joyful/giving vibe, not necessarily santa. 🙂

Until I was about seven or eight: I guess kids were more naive in those days! Not sure what whether I still believe in him in spirit means. I don't think anybody told me that he did not exist but by the time I was about seven or eight I pretty much realised and pretended to be asleep when my father crept into my room to bring the presents late on Christmas eve. Then I guess I knew.

Their really was a Saint Nick who gave presents to kids, we just carry that tradition, and make him live in spirit. I don't know the whole story, so you might want to look that up.

I guess I stopped around... 8 - a friend told me in school he was fake. Lol kids.

Thanks. I looked up some information on St.Nick. I had heard about him but wasn't quite familiar with his history.

(In case people want to read it...)

"The true story of Santa Claus begins with Nicholas, who was born during the third century in the village of Patara. At the time the area was Greek and is now on the southern coast of Turkey. His wealthy parents, who raised him to be a devout Christian, died in an epidemic while Nicholas was still young. Obeying Jesus' words to "sell what you own and give the money to the poor," Nicholas used his whole inheritance to assist the needy, the sick, and the suffering. He dedicated his life to serving God and was made Bishop of Myra while still a young man. Bishop Nicholas became known throughout the land for his generosity to those in need, his love for children, and his concern for sailors and ships."

"One story tells of a poor man with three daughters. In those days a young woman's father had to offer prospective husbands something of value—a dowry. The larger the dowry, the better the chance that a young woman would find a good husband. Without a dowry, a woman was unlikely to marry. This poor man's daughters, without dowries, were therefore destined to be sold into slavery. Mysteriously, on three different occasions, a bag of gold appeared in their home-providing the needed dowries. The bags of gold, tossed through an open window, are said to have landed in stockings or shoes left before the fire to dry. This led to the custom of children hanging stockings or putting out shoes, eagerly awaiting gifts from Saint Nicholas. Sometimes the story is told with gold balls instead of bags of gold. That is why three gold balls, sometimes represented as oranges, are one of the symbols for St. Nicholas. And so St. Nicholas is a gift-giver."
