Well Mars as we both know is one of the most aggressive planets in the Zodiac kind of lacing fire, passion, drive and impulse and the such into whatever it is strongly aspected by. Meanwhile, the 8th House as being ruled by Scorpio and Pluto imbues a Mars placement with a tendency to obsess (not necessarily negatively) on things desired. It supercharges the mars giving it tremendous power. So regularly if Mars regardless of placement is a candle or a fireplace blaze...8th house mars is a Wild forest fire or a volcanic eruption.
In a chart where the Mars is unafflicted (not too negatively aspected by other placements) then this can lead the person to be a high achiever of whatever their mars naturally leads them to desire...in a chart where it is, well lets just say it can lead a person to destructive ruin until they learn how to control their impulses and desires and direct the power of the placement. Till they do learn the 8th housed mars person can be driven by their desires in some pretty powerful ways.
