And my dear Mr. Tate, I think I might condemn all of us Capricorns by saying that, despite being able to read before anyone else I knew and scoring higher than 98% of the country in standardized testing on a regular basis my entire life in good Capricorn fashion, I am most widely known for my unprecedented ability to fall down (and up!) flights of stairs with almost no provocation.

I wonder if that actually is taken into account when calculating one's IQ.

Josh, I'm doing an experiment on the correlation between clumsyness and left handedness. You wouldn't happen to be left handed, would you?

okay just a tad odd. i can say without a doubt left handed pepole are very very very orginal in their ownself and convictions.

left handed people do tend to think differently, I have noticed it. Isn't it weird that almost all my ex boyfriends were left-handed? And I don't think it's that they're clumsy, I think it's that the world is geared toward us righties. Have you ever watched a left-hnded person write? It's quite a chore for them.

OK, well I read a book on this.

Left handed people and women have more lateralized brains, while males and righties tend to have more specialized brains. Lateralized brains means that both the left and the right sides of the brain do the same tasks, and you wind up with a "two heads are better than one" affect. More specialized brains have one half good at covering one aspect of though, and the other half covering another aspect of thought. The two brains of a lateralized brain tend to be more like two generalists, while a specialized brain tends to be like two specialists. Usually lateralized brains are better with language, while specialized brains are better at math and spacial skills, hense my experiment of if lefties are clumsy. On IQ tests, the abilites of the lateralized brain and the specialized brain tend to cancel eachother out, and usually there isn't any difference in smarts. It's also interesting to note that people who develop faster (which means females) usually have a more lateralized brain, while people who take longer to develop (males) have a less lateralized brain because their brain has a longer time to specialize as it develops.

Just thought that was interesting.

Yeah but, why is it that men are better at math and science than women?

This is just in general, really, it's not a rule to be followed since it's just a rule of averages. It's just because I wouldn't know that men are better at science than women, I don't think that was part of the test. But for the difference between math and english, I think it was simply that a specialized brain can caluculate faster in math, while in language two brains working together got the job done faster.

My reaction time is a little slow, but I am most definitely righ-handed. After almost 8 years of karate and then 2 years of drumming and a year of piano, I'm about ready to just chop my whole left side right off and end the frustrations FOREVER.

Besides, have you ever in your life watched someone with reaction times this slow try and dance? Horrible, isn't it?
