What's right fighting?
A right-fighter is someone who gets overly emotional or angry when people do not agree with them and their opinions or beliefs. A right-fighter is someone who insists on having the last word in an argument or refuses to back down no matter what.
Ex: Arguing that Chernobyl caused the defeat of the Germans in WW2
Right fighting is fighting to win an argument regardless if you are wrong and know so. It's an ego thing that makes you have the inability to admit that you were wrong and continue to argue for the sheer fact of being right.

Well a right fighter will fight that their answer is correct, instead of simply saying something along the lines of "I misread the initial question and answered it wrong".

False. Some of us really are just used to being right and get caught off guard when we happen to be wrong 1 out of 100 times. Well, and when we are younger, naturally more ignorant. We don't know any better. We don't realize how ignorant we actually are.
But you are misrepresenting the main motive. In the end it's because we want to be right. Because we actually care about being right more than most. It seems contradictory from your perspective. But it's actually most people who barely fight at all that don't care and turn a blind eye to everything.
We are just victims of Ego like most people. If we were humble we'd realize what I've said and more often than not, simply seek the answers instead of assuming. When we mature we admit when we are wrong more often than not. Because we have to do that to reach the point where we can say "I may be wrong in that way, but you're wrong about much more."click to expand
