These aren't necessarily unpopular, but just observations:
- Aries (or 1st House) placements are highly influenced by the person's other placements/aspects. What they do is add a highly instinctual, non-self conscious, non-self-aware energy to whatever planet is in it. So for example, a Cancer Sun with an Aries Moon will instinctively act on its Cancer Sun feelings, but will struggle to control/understand those actions. Naturally, an Aries Mars is the healthiest place to have Aries in your chart, as you'll go after things you want without second guessing yourself. But it can be especially difficult to have in Moon/Venus, as those are intuitive planets, not instinctual ones.
- Virgo energy on its own is completely obsessive and slightly insane. They are capable of analyzing problems/ideas as deeply as any sign, but are often unable to see the bigger picture when doing so. But this ability is very valuable when balanced out by "bigger picture" signs/placements. I have some Virgo in my chart so I can tell when I'm losing the forest for the trees, but it's especially evident with Virgos I know with very Earth-heavy charts. I work with two Virgo guys who are completely obsessed with something random (one with an unusual crypto-currency that he's convinced will take off, but it clearly won't).
- Scorpio placements always represent death/secrets. I know this is a well-known fact, but people don't realize how literal that statement is when it comes to Natal Charts. Every Scorp Sun I know has faced the loss of a father -- either literally or symbolically (through divorce, separation etc). Hell some are unaware of it, but will realize they "shut out" their father since childhood. Scorpio Venus people often have mothers who were secretive/protective, and our early impressions of love were corrupted at an early age by something/someone else.
