Saturn Return in Sagittarius

My Saturn return began on October 5th 2012 the day my mother died. Saturn was transiting Scorpio back then. Now Saturn is transiting my natal sun. I understand that Saturn is present in our lives to teach us somethings, like how to grow up quick. My question is not really for myself however but for my younger sister, her natal Saturn is stationed retrograde at 21 degrees Saggitarius. From what I have read the retrograde period is a time to make sure we have learned what Saturn has been trying to teach us. But how does this apply to the native Saturn stationed retrograde person? Will it be opposite for them, for example will direct conjunction or retrograde conjunction be more challenging?
