Id love to hear the kinds of events that sparked your interest. Were you originally against it, a skeptic..? Let's hear it!

Posted by elllesquei have a new copy of it... the "revised" edition. which is the same stuff just a new fancy cover lolPosted by justagirlawe.
When i was around 15. i loved reading them in the newspaper and it got me curious. Went to the library and started learning about it. I love math and numbers so i was in heaven. I got my first book when i was 16 or 17.

i still have it even thought it's falling apart, it's torn in half lolol
I even got an ephemeris, so i could hand calculate charts.
someone gave this to me as a gift on our second date.
I don't think I've ever opened it. lolclick to expand

Posted by YellowSubmarineI also have the newest revised edition and I just find it humorous that it doesn't even have a full picture of the zodiac wheel, anywhere!! Definitely not the only book I ever needed but it's a great basic overview 🙂Posted by justagirlFirst astro book I ever bought too!! This, and Linda Goodman's Sun Signs launched it all for me

Posted by elllesquewhat astrology? I wish i had stayed more invested... looking back in hindsite over things that happened the past 10- 14 years made me realize there is more to this "stuff" than just numbers and stats.
sometimes I wonder what my life would look like if I hadn't crossed that threshold seven years ago.
I can't say that it's really benefited me much.
I really don't know.
Some days I wish it would have never happened.

Posted by elllesqueWhatever you think is best 🙂 if you're meant to use it as a tool in the future, it'll find you and you'll be reintroduced.
This is how I like my life....

portions in individual sections, nothing 'touching' each other.
This is my life on astrology.....

one thing....leads to another thing.....leads to another thing.....and you end up with a pile of slop on your plate.
I thinks it's about time for me to declutter, close this chapter.....and move on to something new. *shrugs*

Posted by YellowSubmarineI can totally relate! I often think "man, I'd love to get some wicked astrology tattoos" but I'm a firm believer that your astrology shouldn't define you. I also do like to try to maintain a somewhat mysterious demeanor (although I probably don't pull it off) I think somehow by tattooing any of my astrology it will make it more concrete or create more of a tie to those energies that I'm really meant to transcend and not actually identify with.Posted by astrogypsy7Yeah man.. it's groovy.
I just think astrology is the coolest mix of components.
It deals with aspects of mythology, math, science, astronomy, growing as a person, past, present, and future, karma, elements, symbols, alchemy, it's downright magical. I love seeing it happen all around me, it makes me feel so connected.
As I got more and more in to it, I became more and more skeptical to actually tell people my sign.. but then again, I got the two fishes tattooed on my ankle when I was 18 😆
My answer is usually "I'm a Pisces, but I have this this and this in my chart", and then they look at me either as if I'm fascinating or a total idiotclick to expand

Posted by elllesqueWell there's truth or illusion and sometimes elements of both combined, if you've already seen the truth and your illusions can't take shape anymore then I suppose that can be a bit grim depending on how you look at it. Embrace truth! It does take self discipline to not let astrology consume your thoughts concerning your experience... Practice redirecting your thoughts or clearing your mind in the moment, but whether you think about it later is another lesson of self discipline I guess.
the problem with this hobby....unlike any other that I decided to pursue....you can't just "unsee" it.

Posted by YellowSubmarineI definitely feel like there are parts you embody no matter what but I guess I have a bit of superstition in my head about wearing them on my skin. I love tattoos too.. Its hard to resist so I'm trying to come up with a round about, secretive way to incorporate astrology into a design I like.Posted by astrogypsy7Lol.. nah, it's a valid concern.. one of the many reasons people don't get tattoos in general - for me, I was WAITING to turn 18 and get it done, so I knew it was coming.Posted by YellowSubmarineI can totally relate! I think too much.
I have another tattoo as well, and am planning on a third soon.. neither are astro related, so suffice it to say that Astrology doesn’t "define" me, but hell if I can fight the descriptions of my chart.. I still remember the day I read my Moon’s description, I was like “AHA! There’s the little bugger ” - felt good to make sense of that side of me.click to expand

Posted by exxtasyxGood lord that transit was crazy, Scorpio is my 1st as well and I dealt with some pretty rough shit too. Now it's in my sun sign in my 2nd and next it's in capricorn which is 5 of my planets in the 3rd. When will this end!! Lol
Saturn went into Scorpio and it really, really took a toll on my life when it effected my Ascendant. Everything in my life was literally destroyed and I lost everything, including my sanity. So it left me searching... I don't know for what exactly, but I was just searching for something during all that chaos.
I've been surrounded by Astrology all my life, my mom used to read the monthly horoscopes and my aunt was involved in tarot cards so I always believed in these kinds of things. But I didn't go in depth research about them only until literally everything fell apart. I remember the first time I calculated my natal chart and it said "Gemini - Sun in 8th House" or something like that. And I remember thinking, "what the hell is this 8th House thing?" It sounded so weird to me. So I Googled "Sun in 8th House" and wow, it was like my life story. I was shocked. Especially when it mentioned death and the underworld and all this crap that I used to obsess over as a child to the point where I'd have anxiety attacks and not tell anyone what was wrong with me. So I was hooked ever since.

Posted by YellowSubmarineWe shall see, I have a while to think about it. I don't have money for such frivolous things at the moment.
@astrogypsy7

Posted by YellowSubmarineWhat did the consult astrologers for? Did they go together?
My parents would consult astrologers, and so I set out to prove them all wrong when I was around 11 years old.. and here I still am 😄

Posted by YellowSubmarineI have heard of it being used to arrange marriages in India. Is that true?
@mysteriousTaurus
my parents are Hindu.. and you're right, Islam is against it - it's a taboo
I personally found it irritating that my parents would believe, with such conviction, what some dude they hardly knew said would happen like 20 years down the line...
After reading enough about it, astrology, for me, became a tool to further understand people.. not to predict the future. I have no qualms not knowing.

Posted by NevermoreSag's light the fire! 😄
I think it was begin 2012 (having relationship with my ex-sag) that I started having interest with astrology after I discovered from yahoo.answers said about birth chart.
I though I was Pisces moon and Leo Rising.. turns out after my ex sag said that I'm inpatient and suddenly flashback that I was more wild & ballsy than being a dreamer.
So I changed the time and though that I was Virgo Rising, but Aries moon got it right..
Suddenly I got flashback out of nowhere that I did remember my birthtime since I checked out with my medical record for moving to my currently doctor.
And that's how I know that this was my rightful time.

Posted by 69Humbly too 😉
I guess I'm the first one to explicitly bring out the fact of how fucking awesome we are, compared to everybody else of course, with such simplicity

Posted by TaurusGirlRasSo you have since met your birth mother? Or were you just told about her interest in Astrology? Have you found all of those happenings to be explained pretty well in your chart?
I was adopted n my birth mother studied astrology while I was in the womb. Growing up in my home n church it was banned but I snuck n read horoscopes here n there. So I guess she programmed that in me because I find it so interesting n profound. One of my favorites things to study is astrology/astronomy

Posted by GuardianAnuI loved those as a kid too. I'm a horse and i could always identify with that, even though I haven't spent time around horses, ironically.
I think that it had to do with this Chinese restaurant my parents took me from a very young age, it had placemats with Chinese Astrology on it and I found out I was a Dragon.
So I was like, fuck yes, I am a Dragon, and I guess that it all unfolded from there. I have had a fascination for it all of my life but really only recently got into the Birth Chart aspect, and in order for me to learn that properly I had to have someone entertaining do it, and along came the wonderfully talented and funny Alyssa Sharpe.

Posted by Sage50Good mom you have 🙂
This is a good question.
I became a fan of astrology because of my mom. My mom would read Sydney Omar's and Susan millers forecasts. I'm not sure why I wanted to dig deeper into astrology. Probably at of curiosity.

Posted by YellowSubmarineLol yeah that seems a bit extreme. I don't give my power up that easily, astrology is still represented by matter, and I believe in mind over matter.Posted by astrogypsy7Oh yeah, all the time, even today.Posted by YellowSubmarineI have heard of it being used to arrange marriages in India. Some poor 60 year old man has to take some crazy ass trek to a sacred temple in the middle of no where bc his daughter-in-law to-be's chart indicates otherwise she'll bring terrible doom on him.. gimme a break.

Posted by NevermoreIt's always fantastic to know that people out there are learning lessons from relationships. It seems out of style these days with people I meet. Like "F that girl, she just left me for some stupid reason, she didn't deserve me anyway!" LOL whatever you say dude. People are so lazy and delusional and seem to have a hard time seeing their influence on their relationships without bias. Anyway I'm saying, good on you for being a responsible human being and trying to learn lessons from relationships.Posted by astrogypsy7Many reason that he's an ex yes.
