I think that it had to do with this Chinese restaurant my parents took me from a very young age, it had placemats with Chinese Astrology on it and I found out I was a Dragon.

So I was like, fuck yes, I am a Dragon, and I guess that it all unfolded from there. "I am" a Piscean; so I guess it goes back to when I was in middle school. I used to read books on Pisces, read my horoscope every Sunday when the newspaper was bought by my dad. Then in high school I met a Virgo and we bought t-shirts (I wore his zodiac sign with his name on the front; and he wore my zodiac sign with my name on top); silly, but that was high school. I've STOPPED reading my horoscope since it just "didn't fit me" and since I'm a spiritual person, I don't get my tarot cards read either. I allow God to show me what happens to me daily as I don't know what tomorrow will bring; and I like it like that.

My father. lol.

He planned for me to be a Virgo, even moreso to be born on the same day as him. I like that I wasn't born on that day, I dislike the chart.

But in general, noticing patterns with people.

I'm not anywhere near as serious as I seem to be (except when discussing fire moons). It is interesting to discuss like any belief but the man trumps the stars at the end of the day for me.

i have a new copy of it... the "revised" edition. which is the same stuff just a new fancy cover lol

It just has "most' of the planet stuff in the back.. it really is not that great compared to what is around now. This was mid 80's. so not much was really published. However this book does place me with a Sag rising.... HA!

First astro book I ever bought too!! This, and Linda Goodman's Sun Signs launched it all for me

I also have the newest revised edition and I just find it humorous that it doesn't even have a full picture of the zodiac wheel, anywhere!! Definitely not the only book I ever needed but it's a great basic overview 🙂

sometimes I wonder what my life would look like if I hadn't crossed that threshold seven years ago.

I can't say that it's really benefited me much.

I really don't know.

Some days I wish it would have never happened.
what astrology? I wish i had stayed more invested... looking back in hindsite over things that happened the past 10- 14 years made me realize there is more to this "stuff" than just numbers and stats.

I love hearing these 🙂

One day someone asked me my sign.. At the time I was a big skeptic. Then, everyday for the next week someone asked me my sign! I decided to look into it (I never study half-heartedly) and I was addicted. I was 21, now I'm 24 (25 on the 12th) and I can happily say I've come a loong way. And I may definitely fit into the stories of how other people's astrology journey began cause I always share this shit.

I just think astrology is the coolest mix of components.
It deals with aspects of mythology, math, science, astronomy, growing as a person, past, present, and future, karma, elements, symbols, alchemy, it's downright magical. I love seeing it happen all around me, it makes me feel so connected.
Yeah man.. it's groovy.

As I got more and more in to it, I became more and more skeptical to actually tell people my sign.. but then again, I got the two fishes tattooed on my ankle when I was 18 😆

My answer is usually "I'm a Pisces, but I have this this and this in my chart", and then they look at me either as if I'm fascinating or a total idiot

I can totally relate! I often think "man, I'd love to get some wicked astrology tattoos" but I'm a firm believer that your astrology shouldn't define you. I also do like to try to maintain a somewhat mysterious demeanor (although I probably don't pull it off) I think somehow by tattooing any of my astrology it will make it more concrete or create more of a tie to those energies that I'm really meant to transcend and not actually identify with.
I think too much.

the problem with this hobby....unlike any other that I decided to pursue....you can't just "unsee" it.
Well there's truth or illusion and sometimes elements of both combined, if you've already seen the truth and your illusions can't take shape anymore then I suppose that can be a bit grim depending on how you look at it. Embrace truth! It does take self discipline to not let astrology consume your thoughts concerning your experience... Practice redirecting your thoughts or clearing your mind in the moment, but whether you think about it later is another lesson of self discipline I guess.

Lol.. nah, it's a valid concern.. one of the many reasons people don't get tattoos in general - for me, I was WAITING to turn 18 and get it done, so I knew it was coming.

I have another tattoo as well, and am planning on a third soon.. neither are astro related, so suffice it to say that Astrology doesn’t "define" me, but hell if I can fight the descriptions of my chart.. I still remember the day I read my Moon’s description, I was like “AHA! There’s the little bugger ” - felt good to make sense of that side of me.

I definitely feel like there are parts you embody no matter what but I guess I have a bit of superstition in my head about wearing them on my skin. I love tattoos too.. Its hard to resist so I'm trying to come up with a round about, secretive way to incorporate astrology into a design I like.

Saturn went into Scorpio and it really, really took a toll on my life when it effected my Ascendant. Everything in my life was literally destroyed and I lost everything, including my sanity. So it left me searching... I don't know for what exactly, but I was just searching for something during all that chaos.

I've been surrounded by Astrology all my life, my mom used to read the monthly horoscopes and my aunt was involved in tarot cards so I always believed in these kinds of things. But I didn't go in depth research about them only until literally everything fell apart. I remember the first time I calculated my natal chart and it said "Gemini - Sun in 8th House" or something like that. And I remember thinking, "what the hell is this 8th House thing?" It sounded so weird to me. So I Googled "Sun in 8th House" and wow, it was like my life story. I was shocked. Especially when it mentioned death and the underworld and all this crap that I used to obsess over as a child to the point where I'd have anxiety attacks and not tell anyone what was wrong with me. So I was hooked ever since.
Good lord that transit was crazy, Scorpio is my 1st as well and I dealt with some pretty rough shit too. Now it's in my sun sign in my 2nd and next it's in capricorn which is 5 of my planets in the 3rd. When will this end!! Lol

About a year and a half ago...I read that Virgos were super neat and hated vulgar language.

I am not ocd about neatness and I cuss quite a bit and appreciate others that do lol well not just cuss but are not offended easily...not complex at all but that's what caused me to look further into astrology.

Also years ago a man asked me my birthday and told me I had a lot of Libra in my chart...had no clue what the hell that meant. So that also peaked my interest while looking into my sun sign. Now what he said makes sense.

My parents would consult astrologers, and so I set out to prove them all wrong when I was around 11 years old.. and here I still am 😄
What did the consult astrologers for? Did they go together?
Usually, yeah.. they consulted them for the future - the unknown didn't sit well with them.. plus, it's part of the Indian culture to have your kids chart made - it's Vedic though, usually

my parents are Hindu.. and you're right, Islam is against it - it's a taboo

I personally found it irritating that my parents would believe, with such conviction, what some dude they hardly knew said would happen like 20 years down the line...

After reading enough about it, astrology, for me, became a tool to further understand people.. not to predict the future. I have no qualms not knowing.
I have heard of it being used to arrange marriages in India. Is that true?

I though I was Pisces moon and Leo Rising.. turns out after my ex sag said that I'm inpatient and suddenly flashback that I was more wild & ballsy than being a dreamer.

Suddenly I got flashback out of nowhere that I did remember my birthtime since I checked out with my medical record for moving to my currently doctor.

And that's how I know that this was my rightful time.

I was adopted n my birth mother studied astrology while I was in the womb. Growing up in my home n church it was banned but I snuck n read horoscopes here n there. So I guess she programmed that in me because I find it so interesting n profound. One of my favorites things to study is astrology/astronomy
So you have since met your birth mother? Or were you just told about her interest in Astrology? Have you found all of those happenings to be explained pretty well in your chart?

Dragons are great! Gotta love em.

Have you ever heard of Primal Astrology? I found it really fun to study and reference, it had a lot of truth to it but there are also debatable things of course.
It combines Eastern and Western methods and represents the combo as a unique animal. I have had a lot of people identify closely with their combination animal.
http://www.primalastrology.com/animal-spirit-chart.html

There's another website I found that has a compatibility chart for Eastern/Western sign combinations, I like to use the two in conjunction.

So much fun I've had with these! 😄

Oh yeah, all the time, even today.

Some poor 60 year old man has to take some crazy ass trek to a sacred temple in the middle of no where bc his daughter-in-law to-be's chart indicates otherwise she'll bring terrible doom on him.. gimme a break.

I'm not a religious person, but I have absolute faith in whatever is in charge.. even if that's ultimately actually me.

He was trying to scolded me down of making me a bad guy through his frustrations while in heavy arguments. Although this parts did got me as I learned to realized that I can be inpatient in which I though I have a lot of patience for a bull (& I have accepted that I can be inpatient sometimes).

But then, he's more inpatient than I do. (he has Aries moon Decan 2 in 1st house both trine his sun conjunct Uranus and moon sextile mars)

At least I have kept that secret (he knows that I have interest in astrology and though I was pisces moon, but he wasn't that interest in which I'm safe to share).

Many reason that he's an ex yes. But I have learned a valuable lesson of this relationships by not only the bad parts, but the good parts. And mostly realizations for yourself too.

It's always fantastic to know that people out there are learning lessons from relationships. It seems out of style these days with people I meet. Like "F that girl, she just left me for some stupid reason, she didn't deserve me anyway!" LOL whatever you say dude. People are so lazy and delusional and seem to have a hard time seeing their influence on their relationships without bias. Anyway I'm saying, good on you for being a responsible human being and trying to learn lessons from relationships.
