Depression is VERY debilitating. Nothing you can do or say will cure him. Its great that you send him love occaisionally, just dont over whelm him and DONT have any expectation he will reply. He is emotionally incapable of giving when he is hurting.

He is telling you and has told you, he doesnt want to date...anyone now. Why are you not hearing him?
And unless you have ever been depressed, you have no idea how painful it is. He cannot give you anything when he is depressed. think about his needs, be a friend to him, he needs one.
