Cancers & Their Mothers

A two-part question for all you Cancers 🙂

What kind of relationship do/did you have with your mother and how (if at all) does this relationship affect your romantic ones?

I'm cancer my mom is a scorp. Me and my mom are very close. She was more of a best friend when I was growing up.very open conversation.my mom told me everything she really didn't head thing from me,which cause me to no things act a early age.because of her openness with me I always felt older then wat I was. My mom was also a person who had emotional problems. She really couldn't control her emotions and how she felt which cause me to be more hard toward myself cause I never wanted to lose control of my emotions like she have done. Also she taught me about respecting my self, she had away of talking with sinces and being very loyal to others,one negative thing was I never really came to her with aproblem I train myself to just deal with my issues,because she pre train me to be that way. She had so much emotional drama and I supported her by motivating her to get over her issues.when I had a problem when growing upi would just talk about as if I already had a handle on it at the beginning.also. my mom was a manipulator she kind of didn't want me to go out and get to no others ,she didn't trust my friends,she didn't like me having boyfriends but she wouldn't say anything but I new her well to read her,when I had problems with other people her response was don't worry about them u have me. When I wanted to hangout she would say,u don't want to stay home wit mommy.

When met my scorp boyfriend or any man I was so use of doing thing myself.I didn't trust anyone,I also some how train myself to not to feel.and I never really got close with anyone.I also was so mature in many ways that some dude I was meeting was not on my level.my scorp still say I have trust issues.also I find myself emotional,apple don't fall far from the tree, and all my relationships in my life I learn that I meet people that need me for emotional support but some how I project that I dnt need the same in return. My mom did teach me how to not take shit from men and demand respect.

Well I glad I answer this question I actually some how for got about this.

I actually hate this insinuation from astrology about this supposedly incredibly intimate and affectionate relationship cancer men have with their mothers.

This statement about Cancers is everywhere and I was wondering how true it actually is. To tell you the truth, I actually thought this thread would be more popular. 🙂

Refuting the assumption that (all)Cancers have close relationships with their mothers is also a valid response to this thread 🙂

My aunt and uncle are Cancers and my grandmother is a Capricorn. My aunt and my grandmother are extremely close, but I do think the interfering bothers her. Like Caps, Cancers don't like to be told what to do or even suggestions.

I'm the mother of 3 Cancers and we have a normal relationship, I'm very close to my boys and my daughter, but closer to the boys because I had them very young, so it was like we grew up together and they are very open with me and tell me everything about their relationships...I have always taught my boys to respect all women, I don't care if she is the biggest whore ever..respect them like you would want any man respecting me. I know some of you may have a problem with what I'm going to say but that's just me...If my boys call me and tell me that their gf found a number that was from some other girl, I will help them out and I will have their back because they are my kids..But not before telling them what they are doing is wrong and they should not do it again.

I don't interfere in their relationships unless I'm asked to by him and her..I keep to myself and don't give opinions unless asked...I hate these mothers that are all into their kids relationships..really? All my kids gf's love me, even after they break up they keep coming back to me after even yrs. They do let them know that they love their mom and that they should never make them chose. And also that its very important to them for whom ever is in their life to get along with their mom.

I raised my nephew since he was 3 months old, he calls me mom, he is a Cancer, my twins are Cancers and my 25 yr old is a Cancer..I must say that they love their mom, we bump heads but they are great kids.

My daughter is almost 17 and she is a strong little Cancer woman and she is always so proud to tell everyone that her mom taught her right. She is my princess, my only daughter. I can happily say that of all my daughters friends she is the only one that has never had sex or drugs. I took her to the Dr the other day for her physical and the first thing that the Dr comes and shows me is her Medical sheet and shows me how she had no VD's and that she was still a virgin..I'm like why is that so hard to believe Doc? I knew my daughter was a virgin..she just said that she was shocked because none of the teenagers she gets in her office are virgins..she congratulated me and said I had done a great job with her. I can't take the credit for that..I just gave her the tools and she made the choice how to use them. She is a beautiful young girl and its very nice to see how she is strong and doesn't let anyone make her do what she doesn't want, its so much fun seen her and her boyfriend, they act like little kids just having fun. So yes Cancers are close to their mom and they have a good relationship with them. And it affects them a lot what they go through with their mom. But they do take into serious consideration what their mom teaches them while growing up. At least mine have. And today even though they are not perfect I am very proud of each and everyone of them.🙂

ma dukes and I are bestest friends. She's a july 21st cancer if that matters. We do errything together. In regards to women they have enormous shoes to fill but that's also because of my relationships with my G-ma (RIP) and Favorite aunt. My G-ma is a virgo and my aunt is an aries if that matters. *shine*

How did it affect my relationship? Her timing is WAY off...WAAAAAAAAAY off. Rocking up at your house whe you're trying to enjoy some afternoon delight? This happened many times!

Capricon people become old at the age of 21 i think always a headache for everyone and everything, just they cant make things simply go in a mannered way !

Thing is, my Cappie grandmother isn't controlling at all. I just don't think my Cancer aunt likes her being right on a lot of things.. I personally think the energy clashes because some Cancers like to be right and are "know it alls" too.

My Cancer aunt has had a rough few years. Bought a home, married a Scorpio, lost the home, and now her and the Scorpio are separated. I hate to say it, but I think she was much much better off without him. Anyway, my aunt and her son are back in my grandmothers house. I'm sure my grandmother had a bit of an opinion about her marrying him, because my Cap dad sure did and voiced it, but it is what it is. I don't think they'd push the issue since it happened and is done, but I know aside from being a bit down about the whole situation, she hates that they were right.

Growing up, I had that same energy clash with her(Cancer aunt). She's been a big part of my life. She's pushed me and would tell me things when I was younger that I just didn't want to hear. I was never mean to her or anything, but I figured I already knew everything, but guess what? 80% of what she told me was right. Thing that would frustrate me was that she'd monitor me more than anyone else, especially in certain settings, like restaurants etc . I would feel like I was picked on, corrected, and monitored to the point where she wouldn't even be enjoying her food watching me, just waiting for something to say. It was like come on! But I bet this is how she feels with my grandmother because she's monitored the same way lol.

My Mother is an Aries....

We are VERY good Friends I call her a lot and sometimes annoy her on purpose....LOL

Afterall she is a short-tempered Aries...ha ha

I am my mothers Therapist as well (Im a social worker & psychotherapist) I try to help her with the frustration she harbors towards my grandma (her mother) who is a superwoman Leo(amazing woman)BUT can be a little overbearing for my Aries mother stubborn indenpendence.

I find it rather amusing that all cancer guys who are riled upo about the mother-son bond automatically assume that it only means a "good" relationship. "Good" or "Bad" are merely just two sides of the coin to an abnormal bon, don't you think? the fact that you were so heavily impacted positively or negatively to make strong statements somehow implies that you did indeed have a special bond 😉

I am a Cancer male with a virgo mother. I definitely have a special relationship with her.
