house husband. Oprah holler at me.

ROFL

I've given it a lot of thought and I still don't know what I really want to do with my life. I *am* only 21, but it bugs me not to have direction...

What I would like to do is go into Psychology, either as a therapist or more likely a professor. I'm passionately interested in psychology, a very intense and tenacious debater (it's how I learn), and very intuitive about morals and emotions.

The issue holding me back from that path is money. A social worker/psych counselor only needs a Bachelors, or hell even an Associates in some cases, but a true psychologist needs at least a Masters if not a PHD or PsyD. Psychiatrists and professors need PHD's. All together I think a PHD/PsyD requires 11 years of schooling, an immense time commitment and even more of a monetary one.

Like the OP, I wanted to be an author (writer) when I was young, but faded from that path as I grew older. I also wanted to be an artist (drawing) but my skills never progressed beyond a certain point so that dream faded as well. I've been told many times I aught to be a lawyer (debate skills) but my morals would hold me back.

So ya, I think our Cancer sun makes us like the same career fields! Fancy that. 😛

I always wanted to be a movie director.

I actually got a scholarship to go to film school but my parents strongly disapproved. They wanted me to be a doctor. I got into med school, attended a single lecture and then dropped out.

I went to school for my dream career. Visual arts i.e. painting, performance art, sculpture, filmmaking.

However, I am currently working in the health field to pay bills. I still make art whenever I can.
I would love to be a full time artist.

Are you still interested in being a director? How about taking a 3D class at a local university?
I studied filmmaking in art school and made a few short films. I had so much fun making those films. It's funny how many people would love to be in front of a camera. For free! People would come out of no where asking can they help me hold my lights. ha

I don't think I'm as interested in film making as I used to be. Was thinking of making a short, maybe some day, but I developed a hate/hate relationship with cameras for some reason. I write scripts though, whenever I find an interesting concept/story.. that's usually around twice a year.

I'm a Cancer. I used to want to be a Computer Tech or something of the like, but I grew out of it. I'd love to get recognized for my music and learn to DJ. I often dream of the day where I'm headlining a set in front of thousands just making the crowd go wild. You could say I like music just a wee bit. 😛
