In need of a little advice...

Hi! I'm a sagittarius female (25y old) and am in a very confusing situation with a 32y old crab.

He's a colleague of mine (not in the direct line of hierarchy) so I see hem very often. Since I've been working at my workplace (since the beginning of this year) he always stares at me with big eyes. About 5-6 months ago he ended his relationship of 4y with the girl he was living with (she was extremely jealous and it made him unhappy and crazy). Since then he's been talking a lot to me over the chat thing of our company (sometimes daily, but at least several times a week). He usually initiates a conversation. He asks a lot if I want to go on a coffee break with him and we've had 2 dates (about 2-3 weeks ago): we've been to the movies and the other time he brought me home made soup in the late evening and we ended up talking the entire night (without anything phsycial happening).

Now... here's the thing. The last 2 weeks he has ben really distant. I suspect that he's applying for another job (he told me he is looking for something else after 7,5y working at our company). We hardly talk and if we do, I feel like he's testing me (like texting in the middle of a Friday night I shouldn't get too drunk - I wasn't even out, saying this like I wouldn"t miss him if he were to leave the company, saying he's one of the weird men at my workplace that are hitting on me, etc...). Yesterday I caved and send a text message after 5 days no contact if he's still alive and if he needs somebody to talk to, I"m here. The converstation that followed was:

Me: I'm going to try to make my pastesauce tomorrow (=Saturday). If you want, you can come over and have a taste
Him: I can't. What was again so special about your sauce?
Me: nothing... I'm just good at making it...?
Him: how are you by the way? seen any good movies lately?
Me: in the movie theater?
Him: yes, I thought you went on a regular basis 🙂 (I told him once I go a lot to movies with friends - friends that are guys)
Me: no, I didn't go to the movies since we went. Indeed, I used to do that regularly
Him: Damn, than you're not a good source
Me: Why? Are you going to the movies with someone?
Him:No
Not yet
But last time it had been a long time since I've been to the movies for me ( - it had been 2 years since the last time he went to the movies)
And I had fun
So I hope I get to go again in the next 2 years 🙂

So basically the respons got me puzzled. Was he trying to ask me out in an indirect way of was he talking about taking someone else to the movies? He's always been very indirect with me and being a sag that's always open, honest and straight-to-the-point I don't know if I should bolster up some patience or just leave it be and find someone that is more clear to me. I really like him and even care a bit for him, but he's making me superconfused.

I don't think he is that into you from what I read, looks more like you are his momentary muse until he finds someone he can "fall in love" with. I have played this game and I know fairly well how this will go. Which part of Europe are you from?

Yes. He was also checking if you have been in any dates lately. And that guy is riddled with drama.
