Haha...Parallax, I posted something to you earlier on a different board (I think it's the religion board) and mentioned that I hated "Lost in Translation". I know, a million people loved it, I just hated it. It was like suffering for me to sit through it (and I rented it, I could have just stopped the movie, but I felt compelled to follow through and finish it). The one thing (the only thing) that intrigued me about it is what did he whisper to her, at the end??
Other than that there were several points during the movie during which I really felt like overdosing on lots and lots of sleeping pills. (Not that I needed them.) 😛
Gasp! Did you really rent it? That rocks my world. I love that you screened it for me. 🙂 That was very thoughtful. I owe you something thoughtful, now. You won't have to remind me, I'll think of something.
You will absolutely not reimburse me if I hate it; I will have to "eat it" as they say if it turns out I don't like it. That was very high on the sweet-o-meter though, the offering to reimburse. 😛 I really think I'm going to like it though; I read some reviews and all of them were good, it's like this indie film and it's supposed to be very introspective. I hope I didn't give off the vibe that I don't like introspective movies (Lost in Translation) - I very much do. Some of the best films are these small budget deals. I like it when a film draws me in so much to the characters that I feel like I'm living their experience, at the same time. It's only that Lost in Translation moved sooooo incredibly slowly for me, and there were so many weird moments that to me were just too weird...it weirded me out. Bill Murray, acting that way, weirded me out. lol. I just couldn't handle it. It was too awfully somber, or something. I just wanted *something* to happen, it was too silent and molasses-like. lol.
