Starting a relationship after years of friendship?

I'm curious to see if anyone has started a relationship with a Cancer after numerous years of friendship? If so, how many years had you been friends, how strong was the friendship and how did you evolved into a relationship?
4 yrs - friendship - strong friendship. He is my best friend and I am his.
3 yrs - boyfriend & girlfriend - yr #4 we got married. Been married now 5 yrs.
How did we evolve into a relationship? He asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes.
What is your moon and what is his moon?
