I have found one in his natural setting - a prosecutor - and boy is he the epitome of a Cap man. We know each other professionally and bit by bit, he's shown what I believe is some interest in me. A few months ago we were on the phone discussing a situation and he said, "I love you to death, but don't write that about me." (My handle is what I do professionally, and I cover a number of his cases). That came out of the blue as up to then, our relationship and conversations were strictly professional. Not long after that, he invited me to a campaign fundraiser for his boss; I declined as I don't attend political fundraisers. He kept insisting he was asking me on a personal level. Call me clueless; I still didn't pick up on it. Then right before Christmas, he asked me to his office so he could give me some information he could just as easily have given me over the phone. Introduced me to his girlfriend. They don't say a word to each other while I'm there, and he made a rather big show of giving me a hug. Just a couple of weeks ago, he let me in on a planned arrest outside our courthouse so I could be there to cover it. It went smooth as silk and afterward he told me, "I know trust you completely." And hugged me. Believe me, I know what an enormous compliment he paid me, since Caps don't trust easily and prosecutors don't either.

Now, of course, I haven't heard from him for about a week, but I'm letting him reach out to me.

Any of you lovely Caps have any insight as to whether I'm reading this wonderful man correctly? This board has been really great to read!

LOL elle ... prosecutor is a stepping stone...really? to where? Just curious

To defense attorney running his own practice, of course. 😉

With his name on the firm letterhead. This is often the preferred course.

And/or if he's *really* ambitious, public office.

Look at how many of us Cappies actually caught on to his behavior. its not something i automatically assumed at all. id recognize behavior im familiar with, but if this is common in the field then maybe that explains it.

It's very common to ignore your own sign's negative traits, and even apply sugary euphemisms to them in an attempt to re-spin them. Not that the trait(s) under discussion are actaulyl negative, but that's the way they might appear. So we might get a bit defensive and without even noticing, ignore certain things.

That's alright, it's a natural impulse. We love our signs and are proud of them (the alternative is very difficult to live with - so all the more reason.) The point is to notice when it's happening. Which isn't always easy.

LoL. Just interesting to spot whats going on, say its pretty common in the field, then basically reduce it to being a Cap thing. we try to keep it honest around here good, bad, and ugly as none of the warnings seem to stop many.ignoring is one thing but it being completely off the radar is another.

well i cant relate to scorpio in that way because i dont deny Cap negative traits, or atleast i try not to. im not denying his either. since presented in that way it definitely sounds as if he's using her and the opportunity, and again, i dont think that behavior will get him too far.

my thing is, this is a negative human trait to use. how can one say they see it all the time then say its a Cap thing? unless we're going to assume its only seen from Caps, which of course isnt true.

manipulation isnt a "scorpio" thing either. i think theres a few more signs much more manipulative than Scorpios.

Manipulation works both ways, and yes, I work that end of it myself for my own professional wellbeing. And I'm not afraid to take him to task in a story if he's earned that. No clue on if the girlfriend is even still around and this is most definitely a professional relationship; I'm never going to move in on a guy who's taken. And to whoever remarked that he might like me but not love me, did I give any indication that I was thinking that? I appreciate all the reality checks but I'm definitely in the realistic zone.

Please swallow your pride and cut the bullshit. If you were in 'the realistic zone', you wouldn't have posted here.

And that tells me all I need to know about the residents here.
