Deleting threads

I think someone complained about this already. Just to repeat that while a poster may have the right to delete his posts, I find it unfair to all other forum participants who have contributed to a duscission to have their comments deleted too. It often happens that a dicussion deviates from the initial issue, which triggered it and developes indipendently. Cutting off all exchanges makes participation pointless and disregards the time and effrots others have invested; it feels disrespectful.

The above is adressed mostly to moderators of this forum.

I find related posts very educational and informative. I think all forums should be left open, even if the moderator has closed the topic.

I think an OP has the right to delete threads.
