Doomsday Preppers: Crazy or Smart?

What do yall think?

I used to think these people were just crazy, but I'm starting to not think so as much. Hmmmm.....

I keep forgetting about it.

Anyway, I think its always smart to prep and stack up on necessities just because. Never know what can happen at anytime. Of course Im sayinh this currently unprepared, but this thread is a good reminder.

I'm thinking Caps prepare without realizing they do it and that doesn't mean they are a hardcore prepper. It's in our nature.

I see an upcoming fall in the economy. The writing is so on the wall. And no, Gandolf, I DID NOT vote for Obama. Now he doesn't have to worry about a re-election, there is no telling what he will try to do. I won't go into it because this has already been covered.

We are also very susceptible for a bacterial or viral outbreak of a very fast moving, highly contagious, most likely airborn pathogen. Overuse of antibiotic soaps, people not taking full treatments of antibiotics, etc has encouraged the super germs to grow and become more and more resistant to treatment protocols. Also, there is NO or minimal treatment for a virus at this time. I work in healthcare. Staphylococcus aureus is common bacteria and treated with antibiotics. NOW, in the last ten years there are more and more strains of methicillin resistant staph aureus than ever before. Thus, in an outbreak, people will not be going out of their houses, infrastructure will shut down. Law enforcement will not go to work, sewer and water treatment people will not go to work, television/radio people will not go, etc. Everything we know and depend on will collapse. There will be no communication with the outside world, no treated water, no electricity, no gasoline, etc.

Every day, I am more thankful to be living in the country and of the skills my parents made sure I learned.

The only people that will flourish are those with marketable skills - mechanics, farmers, ranchers, etc.

Only the strongest and smartest will survive!

I was about to believe the whole Doomsday Preppers thing until one guy shot his thumb off in front everyone including his kids and fainted on camera, what a moron, I immediately realized we humans are more of a danger to ourselves than the invisible "the world is coming to an end" theory.

In 2010 the DP's were saying the world is coming to an end in 2012 well we are still here, the world ending IMO was metaphorical not reality plus it's just not something anyone can predict at this point but it's definitely okay to be prepared for natural disasters.

This guy on there Tuesday night shot a high caliber rifle in a partially enclosed space and almost made the guy next to him go deaf. Idiot!!
