Do you want to be his friend because you hope to get him back? Or do you sincerely want him as a friend. I've been really good friends with a male Cap for a few years and if he really sees no point in a friendship then take his word for it, especially if the relationship is over. You said it in your post, it would be taking a step back and thats not in a Cap's nature. They are all about progress and climbing mountains, i.e. moving forward and moving on. I'm an optimist so a friendship may not be totally impossible, but I really think you would die trying.
He probably has a load of friends. Sometimes taking on too many friends, for a cap, can be quite bothersome. He probably wouldnt mind the acquaintance title? Having another obligation and pretending to hang out when you know you really want to $ % &* is not only mentally draining for a Cap male but they just simply do not have time to keep every "friend" happy.
ohhh i like what supercap said. he's a guys guy so i think being friends with a girl would be too much effort for him. he handled this situation way worse than i did though and im the one who got dumped heh. i disappeared for a while to get over it and he got more bummed out (feels guilty?). i dunno. he tells everyone he wants me around and when we finally ran into each other he acted so annoyed. i think acquaintance is my only option at this point
cappywench: yeah i felt like i was being tested when he said that...so if i acted immature and said i wanted nothing to do with his friendship then that would just affirm his decision about me, but if i could be friends then....see i dont even know what he gets out of it cause we werent friends first
eh too many bad memories possibly.
ha! maybe you just have a bad attitude..
well aren't you the friendly one?
hmm i suppose sarcasm doesnt show up well when you're typing on a message board to people you dont know
I told all my exes that I see no point of being friends with them. For what— So we can argue all over again? I just want to move on even when it hurts, I just want to put the X behind me. I tried being friends with my last xbf, but it just didn't work out. We are in good terms now, but we only say hi when we see each other. I remember avoding long convos with him a few times when he stopped to talk to me at the gym. Ha! a-hole!
Wasn't serious. No, sarcasm doesn't usually show well in text. but no matter. I some what agree with capris, ex's usually = problems.

how important do capis think friendship with an ex is? i dated a cap but we were not really friends before so it's hard to take steps back. it's hard for me right now cause im still sad he ended it but he said if we can't manage to be friends then a relationship should have always been out of the question. thoughts?
