So it is Thanksgiving in the US, so it made me wonder... how do you all celebrate the holidays? I know the Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, what do you all do ? Or for those of you not in North America what for you jump starts the upcoming winter holidays of the various religions? Open to all signs!

it all kinda starts after halloween... retail stores start throwing up xmas decor and products with a splash of thanksgiving stuff. turkey day rolls around the end of november... purely a food and football holiday meant to recognize the short time when the native americans and pilgrims actually got along as well as giving thanks for things. xmas holiday season begins arguably immediately when the food coma commences. several hours following is the black friday craze when the push for economic boost begins and is draped with jolly holiday gift giving. After a few weeks of twinkle lights, bing crosby, the haunting sound of sleigh bells, slightly excessive spending, winter weight gain, perhaps annual church attendance, the media bleeding red and green, family, etc... suddenly it's the 25th and the weeks prior seem to end abruptly in gift wrap shredding frenzy... and then another food feast ending in another food coma.

nye comes at the perfect time a few days later... you're 5 lbs heaver, holiday $ pent and asked repeatedly what your new years resolutions are.

at least that's how my ppl do it. lol love it.

I had to look up what Morten's day was! I had not heard of that before. We also usually have family over and play games, especially Christmas because I usually get a new board game.
