Actually, my thought was it's not worth it and don't even bother.
Now, after the fact I feel kind of bad for not bringing it up. But, oh well, at least I didn't hurt someone's feelings.
If someone ask my opinion then I don't bite my tongue. I call it like I see it and I'm trying to help them out by giving them my honest opinion.
Yes, it's ok to filter. It is difficult, but it can be done.
If I feel that my advice wont be taken seriously then I wont give it. I would hate to waste my breath.

Just curious. I know how the Capricorn honesty and call-it-like-we-see-it is. So comes my question. How often to you bite your tongue from calling out the bitter truth to something when someone seeks your opinion?
My BFF's like this and they know I will tell any and all I suspect, along with the various different angles. And I'm wondering if I didn't do it tonight because this person is just an acquaintance or if I just didn't have the desire to go there, although it would have helped them to hear the possible truth of what I thought.
Here's the reason why I ask: This person I know has been looking for a job since they graduated college (six months now). Can't find one. My answer was the economy is just bad and I left it at that. Once I got more information, I focused in on the possible truth and just didn't have the heart to tell them. They said they applied at this local company. I live in a small town and they love to hire local people. This person grew up down the street from the owner and has applied twice and didn't understand why they weren't getting hired. This person smokes pot and has low self esteem and honestly wouldn't be someone I would hire. I didn't ask if they got sent for a drug test. I feel like the bad habits that are well known in this community are why they didn't get hired. But, I didn't say anything. I just left it as "a bad economy".
So, would you have drawn that out and suggested that as a possibility as to why they didn't get hired? I can't say that's the reason, but it is what I suspect. They did say they got an interview, but I didn't ask if they got sent for a drug test. However, the low self esteem would have been why I wouldn't have hired them.
