i've been thinking about it the last couple days and seems it may be personally beneficial to have something like this written out and committed to.

similar to a company mission statement. just from previous employers, i've seen things like this really shape company growth and employee mentality. why wouldn't i do it for myself?

The *my last name* family rules. My sons knew these by age 3 -- committed to memory.

Don't lie, don't cheat, and don't steal.

Observe those 3 rules and everything else will take care of itself.

Nice n simple CapTenn

I only have a couple so far... It'll be a work in progress for a while I bet.

1. always challenge yourself to try the things you want to be better at, and remember that it may be very uncomfortable at first, practice makes it easier, failure or multiple failures are inevitable and nothing to be afraid of.

2. tomorrow is never guaranteed for anyone. let your feelings be known and if you are going to be angry or start an argument with someone, it had better be worthwhile or resolved quickly.

Thanks. I'm a simple man.

I like yours, too.

Although, you may have to get laminated placards to carry around with you so you can remember them. LOL

Shorten them up, so that you can remember them easily enough, but not lose the message.

Just my unsolicited opinion.

lol ah such critics. I knew someone was gonna comment on that.

laminating isnt such a bad idea. completely serious. :p this may end up on a bulletin board somewhere in the house or at my desk.

yes they are wordy, and I may get more concise as I add and edit. but it's me speaking to me about personal goals. so I'm aiming high and being specific or whatever I do commit to memory wont really pertain to me. words like "always" push me harder. if I cut myself any slack, I get lazy.

c'est moi, mon ami.
