What do caps like to talk about? I try to get into a conversation about his family, but I feel like i'm the only one keeping the conversation going. So what else are they passionate besides goals?
What do Caps like to talk about? That's a pretty broad question, don't you think? Maybe you should try to get to know what other interests this person has. Or just talk to them about whatever it is you want to talk about. A lot of people (not just caps) don't like having a run down about everything that happened on a given day- the main reason being-- you already lived that story! And if it wasn't positive or particularly noteworthy then what's the point of giving a full de-brief on something that could (and should) be summed up in a sentence or 2? Remember, your goal here (I hope) is getting to know the other person. I'm not sure getting frustrated cause they converse or see things differently than you is going to be helpful in that endeavor.

Yup^ this sounds similar to my Cap.
He even uses the word "debrief".
Op to answer your question, I would stick with talking about something happening in the moment. If you need to talk about your day, do not talk about the mundane. Maybe something unusual happened, or something big at work.
Definitely talk about his interests. Does he like cars? Tell him you want to go to a car show. Have him teach you about cars. Or talk about similar interests. Talk to him about future activities, like Halloween or the football game he's going to. You can talk about your future activities too. Maybe you need to figure out how you're going to travel from upstate New York to NYC to New Jersey (my problem) lol he wanted to help me and gave me a lot of suggestions. They like to help!

Do any other scorps feel like they have super good conversation when talking to their cap about goals, but then when your goal is at a standstill (waiting on something or you've already discussed everything there is to discuss about it), you have nothing to talk about anymore? Or is it just me?
I like to talk about life and things that happen throughout the day, but he isn't really interested in any of that conversation. Sometimes it's a little boring, and he won't call me unless it's to talk about our future goals or plans.
