mine died when I was quite young.

Well, didnt mean to revive that part. sorry.

but the thing is, she only calls him 'dad' because she knows that its the proper way. but in her mind, she always uses his first name. then, sometimes, she just about calls him by his name.
i found that pretty weird that disrespectful. why yes, he is no longer with her mother, but he's still her dad. and she doesnt call her mom by her first name, then why this prejudice?
I think the author wanted to create an image of a girl who is very unfamiliar with her own father, but i think it was a failed attempt.

I guess, perhaps she felt that way. But that just rubbed me in the wrong way. I dont know, i cant seem to reconcile with that part. it wasnt as though she didnt spend time with him at all. she used to visit him as a kid, so the whole alienation concept doesnt quite fit.

anyway, lets see if she can redeem herself. haa haa

lol no way. One of my book ideas was a kind of timeline/history bio about my mother's childhood - life as seen through her childhood eyes. She is forever recounting stories from her childhood and youth and it's very interesting. I am supposed to research it by talking to her and I did buy a digital recorder four years ago I think and started some chapters but then I dunno maybe one of the leos came along...

Another was a thriller. But that has stalled after I realised how much research Id have to do. I guess you have to choose a genre and stick to it. Researching a book is tough work.

Listen, its okay to want and need someone in your corner. No one is the same. I'm not a dependent girl why any means ... but I'm not independent either. I've been critized for being interdependent, yes I have. It may not seem like it on DXP but I like having someone I know is going to be there for me. I just do, I don't think its weak, I think its just the way I am.

Maybe thats why my relationships don't work out, when I see a guy just wants me to always do for him and he never do anything for me, then my feelings change. Strange isn't it? How my feelings can change just based on that ...
