Lately I find it's the opposite. My dreams are shaping me. I have hyperaggressive dreams ordering and taking from everyone and that trasmutes into my day when i wake up.
Well personally if i worry about something bad enough, I end up making it happen by worrying so much lmao. Like, somehow my behavior will lead to it happening. But that's separate from my dreams and I've always tried not to worry much about anything.
I used to have nightmares as a result of the traumas I used to experience as a teenager. Or from zombie movies. God, I hate zombie movies!! This doesn't keep me from watching The Walking Dead though lol I've only had a few nightmares from this series.
I don't dream so much any more. I've learned to suppress my emotions for the sake of daily function without depression. I guess that's why I haven't been dreaming... Or remembering dreams.
During stressful times in the past I've found myself waking up crying or fighting. My ex has mentioned that I mumble strange things in my sleep during these times as well.
As far as actual dreams go, the few things I remember from them tend to be vivid and are often reflected by my reality in some ways, though I don't always manage to put together the pieces.

Personally, if I have something even slightly prevalent in my day more than usual it will probably end up in my dreams. This is why reality checks work so well for me. But also, if I'm worrying about something, anything, it'll probably become a nightmare later that night.
What about y'all, how much do your dreams tend to be influenced by fresh information?
