Did you have the feeling that you were playing a game, and they were in the game, and you were manipulating their behaviors but also the environment? I ask because of the nature of those games, and because you mentioned feeling like an observer. Did you feel any guilt? Did you feel like you were experiencing things through them or more godlike?
I don't know what it means, but it's cool.

@Phantom_Dangus when you dream, is it always you on there?
I'm some version of me in most of my dreams, but not all. I've had some recurring dreams where I've felt like I was looking out through someone else's eyes. What I was seeing was not good. I was either getting hurt, dying, or doing something bad.click to expand

i often have dreams of people who aren't me yet FEELS like me, as if in my dreams i live other people's lives. they can be young or old, male or female, different ethnic backgrounds, live ordinary lives or extraordinary ones. i've had a dream before that felt like i lived an entire lifetime (it was an ordinary life) but i feel as if i've spent years of life in what actually might've just been a few minutes here in our time.
i've only felt in control of my dreams once (a good dream that was) but always i have no control at all when it comes to the actions and events that would unfold. i always feel i have no control in them and yet i have to continue letting things be and continue living that way. go with the flow, you know?
often though i admit, i feel trapped and suffocated in my dreams be they dreams that show me a man who felt like me (yet not me) climbing atop a snowy slope and falling into the abyss or that one that felt like a lifetime, the one where i lived in another's eyes. but whoever and however they live, though it feels somewhat 'not me'.... their feelings, struggles and joy i always feel.
Do you believe in past lives? Dreams like that make me wonder. Regardless, you have an expansive imagination, one that can either unshackle you or hinder you, depending on how you use it. Sorry to be so melodramatic. lol!click to expand

a version of you but not a completely different person? are you not sometimes a child or an old man?
In my usual dreams I'm me, but I might be a younger version of me reliving something from the past but in a different way or imagining myself in some entirely made-up circumstance. You know, normal dreams. Naked at school, doing something mundane at work, flying over a forest for no reason at all, etc.
In the dreams where I feel like I'm looking out through someone else's eyes, I never become fully aware of who I am, nor is it something I'm trying to figure out. I'm just focused on whatever is happening. I do have a sense that I am not me, my name, living in this day and age. In one of the recurring dreams I am pretty sure I'm a man, a soldier or an official of some kind, hunting through old houses for people. The dream stops before I ever find anyone, but I somehow know I am up to no good.click to expand

In my dreams I’ll often see people who don’t look like someone I know, but they feel like a certain person I know and actually “are” that person, but that’s probably way more common. Don’t think I’ve had it’s been the case for me where I’m experiencing the dream as someone else but still me before, unless I just don’t remember. I’ve had dreams with a 3rd person perspective but it still looks like me lol. But yeah, I still understand the feeling you’re talking about, just with other people, not myself
I just realized I haven’t been dreaming at all lately 🤔 It goes in cycles for me, I’ll go months dreaming almost every night, then months without dreaming

when i feel pressured or stressed out in life, that's when i often dream the most. and my dreams usually feel so suffocating no matter what they are.
2 of my family members died in their sleep, from a dream it's often speculated.
my great grandmother died from a bad dream. but she was old, sickly and easily frightened so it was no great shock.
but the oddest one is my uncle who died when he was a little boy.
he just slept one night and never woke up.
almost suffocated in my dream once.
i guess dreams CAN kill you.
Damn, that’s crazy. May they rest in peace now
And yea that makes sense about dreaming more when stressed out. I was gonna say that’s what your dream seems to mean to me, that you’re just feeling stressed out and overwhelmed with things, maybe at home, or just the mundane everyday things of life in general. But I don’t usually like speculating on what someone’s dream means because I don’t really know anything about their life so it could mean anything really in all kinds of abstract ways lol. I also don’t wanna come off as a pretentious armchair psychologist lmaoclick to expand

You should make the game 😋
Not being in the dream but feeling like you’re one (or all) of the ‘characters’ is quite common I think.
Yes, very often I'm someone else but it's me, yet it's not. Or I'm not even there at all, just another camera rolling in the dream film.
I’ve had the second one pretty often, where I’m just viewing the scene but there’s no me in the dream as a person interacting with anything. I mean, some of the dreams I’ve had are so surreal that there’s no people at all too lol. Just a complete mindfuck where the concept of myself doesn’t even exist to begin with 😂click to expand

there's an old couple depicted in this dream. (an odd thing that i've often noticed in my dreams is that i am not always the main character in them. sometimes i'm not even 'there' really. and in fact, they are often populated by people i've never seen or met before which is why they often feel as if i'm watching a movie or a show yet they also FEEL like me. am i making sense?)
the premise of the game:
all kinds of furniture and other materials to build a house would rain down on this old couple while the snake-like demon watches from above (implied source of this 'rain') but if they don't act quick enough, they could be killed by the falling objects.
which is what happened in the end---- the old woman (wife) was impaled by a construction material.
then i woke up coz my driver's picking me up for work.
what does this dream mean?
