Enlightenment begins where?

When did your eyes open for the true define nature this world has embarked to your understanding? Where did enlightenment begin for you? Even if it is caused by a small task what opened your eyes? Childhood? Teenage years? Mid 50's? When, where, who? I'm reading a book that was assigned to my classmates and me, and I came across something in the book that was so I don't want to say alluring, but the curiosity of the story details made me want to define the character development. This repeated cycle of Enlightenment is caused maybe.... uhhh..... bluntness to survival of the fittest in early childhood grouped in a modern day perspective? Hes an African American man whose now a really successful surgeon. He came from the ghetto or as the story interprets it in his early eyes, just another place to live. Although he remained in the rural areas, the setting didn't impact on his judgement skills, nor calibrations he internally made sense of. I can relate a lot to his childhood beginnings. Though I never quite faced the struggles that were brutally fired causing his family to depend so much on education, love, psych, trust, and adaption.

Pain and suffering from a traumatic childhood. It led me on a long search for truth, a better understanding of the world, connection, and freedom. And it made me realize that I am the only one who can truly help myself and the only one who will ever understand me.

If you believe in all spirituality, you are already "enlightened" before you are born because we are ultimately spirit beings...souls. Our soul live many lifetimes to advanced our enlightenment and to grow. Each soul chooses a lesson to learn before it is born, including parents etc. Each child is born fully "awakened" with all spiritual gifts(telethapy, astral travel, etc) but societal pressure causes us to close off those gifts...and our knowledge or enlightenment. But, that serves its purpose as to put you on the path to learn the lesson your soul chose before you were born. Some knowledge is new, others is meant to reawaken you.

Very well said geminaye97. I experienced the same as a child growing up with a very controlling and abusive (mostly emotionally/psychologically) alcoholic father. One of the last memories I have of my Mother (she passed in 1998 from breast cancer) is my Father grabbing her arms so hard and telling her he wasn't drunk, when he clearly was; she had bruises on her arms. This was when I was in my early 30's and the rage I had held inside for all of my childhood until this moment all came out at once. I would have killed him had I owned a gun, I have no doubt. I called the cops and in a few hours, his attorney bailed him out of jail.

I went through Betty Ford's family therapy. It was a painful experience and one that didn't sink in until years later when I finally accepted that I can't change my Father no matter how hard I try. The only behavior I could change was mine.

I too often feel misunderstood. In fact, more than anything including respect, admiration, appreciation and even love, I simply wish to be understood. Those who get me are my true friends, one of course, being my husband.

I've also began to open up my eyes as to how most of life's paradigms are false. When you pull away from all the crap you're being fed by the media etc., and start doing your own research, you will see the light. It's almost blinding at first. But if you know who you are and what you stand for, you have more than most people walking aimlessly through their daily life without a clue.

This is true. We all have a third eye, the pineal gland, which is where are enlightenment capability is centered. This is what those who are referred to as the "Illuminati" have known for thousands of years but tried so hard to keep it from the general public.

After 911, I started asking questions and trying to understand what the real truth was behind this horrific event. Many around me questioned my integrity. But I knew what I saw was a fabricated lie. At the same time, I was listening to radio program called "Coast to Coast AM" which also was talking about 911 and on other shows, about the pineal gland and enlightenment. One thing they stated many times was that studies show fluoride actually calcifies the pineal gland. When the pineal gland become calcified, it hardens and becomes inactive.

Fluoride also has been proven to lower IQ's in children and makes one more docile. "dumbing down of America" mean anything to anyone? The Nazi's used fluoride on the Jews to make them more docile. Very few people know this fact. Now ask yourself who added Fluoride to our toothpaste and our water? The same government and governmental agencies (FDA in this case) who have allowed Aspertame and High Fructose Corn Syrup put into our foods and soda, and GMO's (Monsanto) to destroy our organic crops replaced by Frankenfood, Those who think this is all innocent and not some evil agenda have yet to be fully enlightened. I educate people every day. But as the saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

Once the masses become fully enlightened, the deception of those who pull the strings will be open and be destroyed. We were meant to be one with our Creator.

MOST people have been in denial or still are. The Elites have put toxins in our food, water, atmosphere and products to destroy our ability to be enlightened and see the evil that exists.

Anyone who thinks all of this is a conspiracy theory only needs to compare how dumbed down our kids have become, how many children now have ADD, ADHD and Bipolar, and also the elderly getting Alzheimers etc. caused by the aluminum and mercury in vaccines/drinks. I grew up in the '70's. NONE of this crap existed. We drank real Coke with real cane sugar. Not Hight fructose corn syrup which is something like 500x sweeter than real sugar. Kids weren't obese when I was growing up. Yes, video games have caused a lot of kids to not get outside and play. But the systemic issue is the crap they are digesting. During my childhood, the regular foods you bought at the store (meat, milk, most veges/fruits) were organic. Now days, everything is GMO, sprayed with toxins, and injected with steroids and growth hormone.

I work in healthcare. When I was an intact/child, I believe we received something like 2-3 vaccines max. Now days, we're injecting more. Kids immune systems are getting overloaded at an early age. It's sick.

I've tried for the past 5 years to open the eyes of those around me who are blinded by ignorance and apathy. It's hard and it takes time. You can lead a horse to water.......

Wouldn't be surprised one bit if all this upper respiratory viruses mostly kids are common down with in the Midwest and spreading across the nation are from the toxins they've sprayed in our skies over the Summer. If people in the masses would wake up and demand answers, this would stop. We outnumber the elites. But too many people are more concerned with the new smart phone, the latest hollywood scandal and spending time on FB than researching what's happening to their environment and their health.
