@Gucci. To be honest. I have been severely hurt by 2 women with kids. My ex fianc?e and my
ex wife. I'm very big on family and marriage and think kids are a very serious matter. I am also down to earth and easy going and very accepting. My ex fianc?e had 4 kids. My ex wife had 3. I bonded with both sets of kids in both situations and so when both ended, I was the
one who lost 5 people all at once, then 4 people all at once. That's the risk that I took and I only blame myself because I knew going in both situations that:

No matter how much I love those kids or how deep our bond is, they are not my kids,
so I have no rights and no legal say so in how they are raised.

Even if I'm right and I'm doing what's best for the kids' sake, legally it does not matter.
Even if the kids want to maintain the relationship, they don't have a legal voice. Only SHE DOES.

Yes, I probably suffer from the "ate 2 bad apples so now all apples are bad " syndrome.

Could I fall in love with someone with kids.... of course.
But would I put myself back into that situation .....hmmmmm

Sad part is before I met my ex fianc?e, I said I would never date anyone with kids.....ha

Ok 3dimes I see you on this 🙂 and understand where you are coming from, yours has not been a nice experience, dont let a bad experience shape your beliefs into thinking thats how its always going to be, not every woman will do that to you but i can understand why you feel wary. In my country legally, the contact is the choice of the children and not the parents whether its a biological parent or not, for me i do not involve my relationships with my children until i know its solid, you dont really know someone until well after a year, I feel it would be selfish of me to allow an attachment to form so early, I think the relationship building between the two should be a slow and careful process for the good of everyone involved. Now the relationship bond should be about the needs of the children more so than the adults, to take that away a woman is hurting the children just as much as the guy is she not? Im not looking for a new daddy, if it comes to me im looking for a guy who can be my lover and best friend who has what it takes to be a good FRIEND to my children, How that shapes is down to the children and the guy, i will force neither down each others throats. i can understand where it can get messy though, it can also swing the other way, where the guy rejects the none biological child once the relationship is over, i think its really crucial for the sake of both the guy and children of what kind of relationship bond forms.. a difficult one but both adults need to really think about this and how you are going to go about it, i dont know if many people think about this.

what i found in my last 9 1/2 encounter/relationship was that because i have 2 children (both different fathers from relationships over 11 years i would like to add!) this is what the guy had a problem with apparently, because they had different fathers, my view was that he was putting his ego before how well we both bonded and why he should feel ashamed of being with a woman who he apparently cared so deeply about, my argument was so a guy would sell himself out and by pass a woman who could quite possibly be THE ONE where all the other boxes were ticked, because of this? and why?

I feel there is a strong prejudice towards single moms and kinda wanted to get to the bottom of it, Ive only encountered it once and i guess before before then I didnt consider myself damaged goods! lol.. Im independent and self sufficient, have a good career and work hard, im not a down and out who n

... who needs a guy to come and fix us, i provide a good life style for us, I am just as fun and freedom loving as I was before children, this is encouraged in my kids (they are sag and aquarius in any case! 🙂 ) having two children does not bog me down in anyway, I party, they party, WE party, we aim for happiness in all we do.

Ok morally would i do that to the children and the guy, nope, but i would be very careful how and who I selected. I usually get on well and can maintain a good friendship with ex`s unless of course they would want to cause harm to us, so I guess it is all down to the individuals..

What i have found also is, some guys can also try and be your kids best buddy to get with you, for me, FORGET IT! I dont like that and can see straight through it, so do my kids 😉 I dont like it, maybe im too protective but I will be the one who decides whether i like you and not through you trying to get my children on board!
