You will not suck at it, I promise. Not only is my mom a gem but I know lots of great gemini mom's. Trust me gemini mom's are rock stars. I do think and this is just my opinion that you really shine when your children get older. Like my mom is awesome with advice.

My mom is a Gem.. I feel like she was cool.. She gave me ALOT of space (LIKE ALOTTTTTTTT.. Mostly she was at work or wherever) which I required & taught me that talking about my problems is good.. You know Pisces usually shy away and stay silent... Plus she was never strict.. Unless it came to education.. But she was never really strict... Virginity, boyfriends, career, whatever else she made sure I spoke about it but comfortably

I got lots of space from my mom too but and she will tell, I was born a grown up, so she felt like hands off was the best approach with me but she made sure to hit all.the important stuff.

Just that you had mentioned that you struggled with the emotional aspect of the relationship with your mom.

I do well with kids between five and 12. Recently I learned I can manage new born babies also!!! So yeah, feel good about it. But I still got few more years to get there. Fingers crossed.

You're right, I did but I don't think that was all her, my 12th house moon, doesn't do me any favors. Ya know. She was very ill prepared for me, so what I see with other gem mom's, I don't necessarily believe it was her sign but her circumstances.

Anyways, I treat my kids more like friends so that they could share all of their teens issues with me. I gave them freedom and don't stop them from doing the things they like as long as it's not illegal. 🙂

They hate some part of it though because they think I don't really act like a mom, more like I am their elder sister. They said I never seems to grow up. Haha...

They are 15, 13 and 12.

I'm learning a lot from here. Thanks DLR. Yeah, I can see myself being strict about studies but allowing my kids(hopefully in three years) to have their space(sometimes too much, I think). I need to remember this thread and not give them too much space but give quantity time also. Just to do sweet nothings. 😄

Did you like talking about it all or were you rather she never asked questions about it? Did you initiate those talks? No right? My mom never taught me all those things. She was veey guarded and wanted to keep us naive and innocent. Which wasn't bad.

I didn't know anything about anything including periods and all that till i was almost fourteen. Everything from my friends. It was embarrassing....

Well it was a two way street.. Sometimes I initiated and then sometimes she initiated... Yea I like the conversations.. Especially the boyfriend drama... That was one thing I appreciated.. Some parents didn't talk about sex and boyfriend issues.. My mom did.. Plus I was allowed to have company often but never were boys ever allowed to sleepover.. NEVER...

But now we speak like 3-5 times a day... About anything.. Most of the times when it comes to my siblings.. I talk to them first Bc to them my mom have a way of just "exploding" (she and I have Aries moon)... Especially when it comes to my sister (she's a Leo.. So she can be pretty sensitive.. Sometimes) But they'll speak to me first about problems (especially school) & then I'll talk to my mom...

Bc apparently I'm the only one who can look pass her "exploding" and get to HER...

No I'm saying growing up I was allowed to have friends (females and males) over.. Meaning they could come to my house and hangout.. But NEVER were my friends allowed to sleep over my house.. NEVER.. After a certain time my company had to go home..

Plus anyone who came by my house... My mom had to speak with their parents first b/c she wanted everyone's parent to be aware of where they children were..

& to make this interesting.. When my mom would go out of state to work.. My aunt (born the same day as my mom.. But they're 20 yearssss apart ) would watch me and my siblings... & the same relationship my siblings and I have with my mom.. We have that same relationship with my aunt.. Hahahaha

You know it sucks when parents see us as kids ways. But some are like that. My mom wasn't Happy when I introduced my bf to her. It suxks...

I understand how difficult it must be fr you guys when your friends can't sleep over. Have you told her how you feel/about this? Let her know how your friends get to have friends over for the night....

No.. Bc I'm a person who like ALOT of space.. So I was comfortable with them leaving hahaha.. Even now, since I live by myself.. I don't have anyone over my house... I'll go to other people homes to socialize.. But I refuse to let people in my house...

No.. They aren't twins.. They're born 20 years apart... They have different parents.. My aunt is really my great aunt... She's my grandmother's( my mother's mom) sister... So my mom is her niece..

See openness.. Trust me when they get a little older they'll be looking at their friends like "wow your mom wasn't open with you? Wow that's strange"

I was very open with my 3 kids. No taboos! I tried to make them feel comfortable to talk about anything with me. I'm nurturing and maybe alil strict... but I wanted to make sure my kids had manners and respect. Also, I have mastered the fine line between mother/friend.

My oldest daughter, leo sun Aries moon, get along fantastically! She understands me, and I her. We are best friends.

My son, cap sun virgo moon, is a different story... we are still friends, but he knows best and cannot be told anything. He means well, tho.

My youngest daughter, leo sun/moon, she is of a different world! We are better friends now that she's older.

Been spending a few years trying to chase gems because i admire their qualities and like to have them to be the mother of my future children. Though i admit that's a greater driving force than me loving the woman. I'd break up with a woman if i feel they cannot be a good mother to my future children. That is fundamental to me.

I have a sag mom and as i mature, i realise she kinda raised me to be a tool for her agendas. Nonetheless she still loves me. Just that its conditional

Yes, overly!! Her emotions were... irregular. Jokes made her furious, and serious things made her laugh. Oh, and, the attention seeking is at its worst with her. She will create these elaborate stories, lies, and tell as many as she can... drama for attention! She gets plenty, but just as a leo wants to be adored, she needs attention 24/7.

Growing up was hard for her. She just turned 21 and has no clue what she's doing. She found a "niche" in having others take care of her... but, they always figure out it's a permanent thing for her. Needless to say, she loses friends very easily and very fast!

She'll figure it out one day. I have faith in her. 🙂

I love her dearly.... life was hard with her. Not even gonna lie. We don't see eye-to-eye. She uses and I'm so against that. But, I respect her way of life even tho we butt heads.

I'm a Gemini sun, Capricorn moon, Mercury Gemini and a single mum to twins. I work full time and constantly feel guilty I don't devote a lot of time to my children and can also get stressed at times, mostly getting out the house in mornings. I'm not particularly strict probably a bit too lenient. I have a good bond with my children. I'm a fun mum, we always have play dates and friends round to play or movie night on a Friday. I make sure my children are cuddled every day and before bedtime I ask them about the good bits of their day and any bad bits. I've only recently separated from their dad so I want them to be able to talk to me about their feelings if they're sad or angry

Of course.. Rules are SET.. There maybe a thin line between parent/friend... But trust and believe when that line is crossed.. The children feel it..

Plenty of times I might've slip up and use obscene language in front of my mother.. & she scold me..

Right then and there I felt the "parent" side instead of her "friend" side..

Also, growing up my mother disciplined me... Do not think she didn't.. She whopped my a**.. A couple of times.. Hahaha... And b/c I always felt like she was my "friend".. Every time I was disciplined.. I learned "Be careful what you do/say around mommy.. B/c at the end of the day. That's still your Mom.. & she can discipline you.. Friends can't"
