I have to replace a couple of door frames

whats the best way to remove the moulding from around the door without breaking it, so that it can be put back after the new door is hung?

Remove moulding carefully with Putty knife,Pull the molding back a little bit and just use the putty knife to cut the tape while keeping tension on the molding. It will come right off.

I guess you are the DIY type of person, that is a great thing. I wish I could be good as you 😢 I think the best way to find out the answer to your problem is looking for videos on youtube or google about it. This way you'll find what exactly you need. Not all members are so much enthusiastic about doing a job themselves. I suggest you to find information on blog of value windows and doors which could help you in getting your answer.
