Chat Room—

Don't know if this has been suggested before, but what about introducing a chat room? I think it would be a great idea and I would love getting to know the ppl here better. :-)

I hate chatrooms, they go too fast or too slow, and I either can't keep up with them or don't want too.

please please chat room yes please please!!! I'll bake you a cake if you give us a chat room. But then, I couldn't mail it to you so I guess I'll have to eat it for you too 🙂

No offence to all you chat room fans, but it is my personal opinion that chat rooms are the scurge of the earth where no intelligent conversation ever takes place and where people either sit around bored out of their heads saying anything but something interesting, nothing, or making rude (usually sexual) comments. It's only purpose, unless it's connected with an online game or something of that sort, is for horny/lonely people to pick up other horny/lonely people...

But of course it could simply be that I haven't had any good chatroom experiences, ever.

lol...actually I think exactly like you do for the most part morgan. But then, a person comes along who actually isn't stupid or all about the cybersex stuff, and who actually is worth talking to. And, admit it or not, most of us in this world are lonely in some way or another deep down. So that part doesn't annoy me.

You have had some bad experiences Morgan...and for the most part I agree with you in your analogy...totally. BUT, and a big BUT, I have frequented (years ago) a few rooms that real connections were made, the conversation was intellegent and 'clean'. Here, at dxpnet, we wouldn't have to deal with the initial crap, b/c we already have a certain knowledge of each other. From my experience to date, the most ppl here have an above average IQ (congrats Dxpnet for attracting these ppl here) so conversation could be interesting to say the least. Not only that, I believe the 'ground rules' has already been set (by the flavour of this site), and any newbies would have to conform to the method and content of conversation, or they would be bored quickly and then leave..hence all the stuff you mentioned wouldn't be an issue. I have been searching for a decent chat room for yrs (since my old room closed) and have as yet, not really found one. that's why i suggested one here, b/c I KNOW that all the crap wouldn't be tolerated at a site like this. And as already stated, any newbies would be rather uncomfortable if they strated such crap, when surrounded by ppl of decency and intellegence. Apart from all of that, of course chatting is a totally optional thing anyway. And Pheonix, I enjoy chatting, NOT b/c I am lonely (lol) but b/c I truly love to meet ppl from around the world and learn about all the cultural differences and basically extend my 'friendship network' in the hope that I can meet some of you IRL someday (at least the ppl I connect with). I have already done this once remember, (met 5 chat friends) and found it a completely rewardig experience.

it just so happens that i have been to such a place, it does exist. i think its a secret though between certain posters. there was a link to it but i think it magicaly dissappeared. 😢

I think we should take what lawgoddess said and put it as a warning for newbies.
