How do I keep myself occupied in his absence?

A Libra male friend and I got in an argument recently because of basically he said she said drama. He told me he liked me and showed me multiple times that he did. A part of me knew this but I felt vulnerable and opened up to people besides him. However people in our clique told me otherwise like they said he didn't like me that much and that I was there for his convenience. I snapped on him because I got hurt in the past and I told him don't tell me stuff just to keep me around. I also mentioned that some people told me of his true intentions. I can tell I hurt him because he told me okay believe everyone else rather than watching my actions. He also said who ever told me this needs to shut the f up for thinking they know what goes on in his head. He felt like I should of asked him instead of assuming things. He asked me what came out of my mouth and what actions did he not show to me to make me think that way about the situation. There is a lot more to that which showed nothing but hurt from him.

Before he told me all of this, I told him I think it's best we spend time apart and he brought that topic up. He agreed to us needing time apart and he told me he wasn't going to hold a grudge against me, but he is annoyed and it will take some time. I'm just afraid he won't come back to me even though he said he will. Does time apart usually help a friendship? Will this Libra man come back to me? I'm not going to pressure him to talk to me during this time of course.

Time does help. I always finds it allows me to sort through everything that happened, give clarity to the situation and then subsequently settle on a decision that feels right to me.

I find the silence also gives me a chance to lick my wounds, protect myself from any further hurt and when I am ready can come back to start anew.
