Libras do you lie a lot?

Recently I have gained the impression that Libras have the reputation of being liars. Do you agree that Libras have that reputation and do you think that reputation is fair? I am involved with a dating website at the moment and someone I may be meeting soon says that her ex-husband and father to her children (a Libra) was (surprise surprise) a womaniser and a liar (i.e. presumably saying that he was not sleeping with other women when in fact he was). Another personal experience has been that I had a date not long ago and I realised that the age she was supposed to be was not the age she was. She said that that was a "white lie" but that in itself was not true since a "white lie" is a lie told to spare the feelings of others (NOT oneself!) So, do you Libras only tell white lies or does it go further than that? Perhaps some may respond "well, we all lie sometimes" but do you think that Libras perhaps lie more than most, if only to spare another's feelings? (Of course, if you DO lie a lot then maybe you will lie here as well so I won't really know!?!?)

Sadly yes, but the million dollar question is why?? Which none of us can really answer. Lol. I think sometimes its required to keep the peace. Some people think they want the truth but they really prefer to be told what they want to hear, and Libra's are very VERY good at telling people what they wanna hear. Masters at it actually. So if you have a question for your Libra and you so much as "think" they might lie, you might want to stress to them how important it is for them to tell you the truth and assure them your head wont explode once they do. After that, get ready. Because when a libra really speaks their mind, most people are surprised at what they've been wanting to say.lol

Absolutely hands down on this one. One of my really good high school friends has been busted many times by our water sign friends in the circle. She does tell me she lies but it IS to keep the peace. I am a Gemini with Libra Moon and Asc so I know exactly why she does it. I have never met a Libra who hasn't fibbed. They really dislike chaos and will keep the peace even if it means to tell a small lie.

In all seriousness, I make a concious effort to be honest all the time. I know what everyone is talking about with the little white lies. I used to do it and would justify it as being for the greater good, whatever that means. Over the years I saw how some of these things snowball or get twisted. I've also been on the receiving end of things that others thought were little white lies (and some blatant, in-your-face, big fat lies too). Ultimately I decided that my word was too important to piss away on a white lie. I am still a people pleaser in ways, and will soften the blow of what I say sometimes, but I am honest. Sometimes I will labor way too much trying to find the balance between tasteful and brutal honesty. I want people to know that I mean what I say.

If he was such a good "friend" then why would you want to stop being friends with him just because he got a better job in another state— Not to seem rude or mean, but you sound kind of selfish. A real friend would've been happy for the other person and just said "Make sure you keep in touch, good luck with the new job, hit me up if your ever back in town" Its not like you two were screwing (I don't think) or in a monogamous relationship or something. You were just friends. Glad it worked out for ya tho. And for the record if you would've been that blunt with me in the beginning without getting to know me first, cursing and whatnot, you'd be that last person in my circle. There's ways of asking someone their intentions within the friendship without cursing and being plain rude. The Taurus in him must've made him soft on you. Because the sagg and leo in me would've had your damn head on a platter. (Metaphorically speaking)

Thats what i said. I said if we do lie its because people normally cant handle it. They are most likely always shocked once we finally do speak our minds. He did make some good points, but i dont think it was right for him to curse at him or be rude before he even gave the guy a shot. Im just saying as a Libra if that were me i would've gave up the minute he showed disinterest in the friendship. Nobody disses me. But see thats the Leo in me tho.

I lie.. Usually to people I dont respect at all.... I used to lie my ass off to my ex just because I didnt feel like arguing so I'd just tell him what he wanted to hear to shut his ass up.. I recently lied to some one that wanted to hang out.. I told him I was going out somewhere but I just sat at home on the computer haha.. Why couldnt I just say I didnt feel like hanging out?? No clue a lie just came out first..

They DO lie. It's not a malicious action, but more a way to avoid conflict because Libras absolutely HATE conflict. They avoid it like the plague and turn into the most ridiculous people you'll ever meet, all because of the inability to face conflict.

The funny part is that they won't see it as a lie. They see it as protecting your feelings when it's the opposite.

I only lie sometimes because so many people won't respond in a calm, reasonable manner to the truth. Or sometimes I know it'll hurt them, and I'd rather avoid that if it's unnecessary.

That's quite judgemental. Maybe not everyone wants to live through WW3 on a daily basis. Ask yourself: why is lying considered wrong? Typically the answer is that it leads to a negative impact on the person.

Well, if the truth upsets someone, that is theoretically harming them psychologically. Yet you also get dragged in the harm, by being the recipient of their rage.

If I must choose the person's poison, I'd like to choose the one they can't vomit back down my throat.

That's a very un-Libra metaphor, but I believe I made my point. 🙂

It's really sad actually, because for some reason I can't stop it. Sometimes the lie just tells itself, then I have to catch up to it. By the time I realize what was said I am in too deep, then I have to continue to go along with it FOREVER, and it gets really tiring.
I wish I could stop but I am clearly not in control of it.

They lie when they are afraid to be lonely too.

So that's why I think they lead people on and sleep about etc, its all about the attention I would have thought??

This is what people don't realize about Libras. They should be thankful that we sometimes don't speak our mind because it would be so cruel it can destroy people. Then after it's said we have to suffer the guilt and it's just not worth it. The guilt is just too painful.

You too I'm pretty sure. Ain't nobody's perfect and living a 100% truthful life. Libras are just as good at this sort of thing more than most.

Reread. I said I do not have a reputation for lying. And I am Aquarius Capricorn and Libra dominant. Scorpio is 4th, it’s not in my top 3 and I don’t really see why you brought it up as if only Scorpios are known for being truthful.

Are you kidding me? I know some Scorpio's who are compulsive liars. No one is above it.

Oh ok after reading that reputation part a hundred times....my bad I guess.

I only mention Scorpio because Scorpios are usually honest about their feelings, thoughts and intentions. When you have scorpio as a rising you displays it it doesn't matter what other signs dominates over that. Your rising is your forefront. And you do come off as a Scorpio rising to me. I feel some inclinations and vibes of Lord terramine within you and you both have the same placements.
