Ok...I was out to dinner with some friends on Friday night and sat next to a LIbran woman (I knew her a little but got to know her better by the time the night ended). It was a buffet type meal which I love coz I love to try all sorts of foods, anyway, she would come back with something and take a bite and say "that's not nearly as good as how I'd make it" and leave it, get something else.....and it went on and on....I don't mind coz my ex Gemini?? well hmmmm I won't bore you (he was just extremely fussy and all the rest), but it wasn't just the food, it was everything in her life!!! Very caustic approach towards life.
I kept making her laugh though - I'd come up with something stupid so she'd lighten up and she wants to catch up another time LOL (its good coz she was quite good at telling me all about Libran women - she has 3 sisters who are all Librans too LMAO, her parents obviously liked January a lot), but over the past few months I've met more and more Librans and there seems to be a tendancy to be very picky with foods, etc, is this just my experience or is that a trait?
I've even noticed with mine that he avoids going out to dinners and will only pick pub food, i.e. hamburgers/chips/steak, etc.....and when he's home alone?? he basically cooks the same thing every night (that cannot be healthy nor satisfying...sheesh). Is this a normal thing for you guys? Mine LOVES Indian food and is a meat-a-holic!!! oh and he LOVES his alcohol...My God, does he love that!!!
Way picky. I get all worried when someone invites me for dinner or to some restaurants I am not familiar with. Basically eat the same food every other day. Well these days I have few different choices so keep changing whenever I get bored of same thing everyday. I dont like onion, garlic, ginger and coriander leaf. So kinda stay alert and make sure whatever I order dont come with all these.
When I used to cook, basically it was all the same.
Now would be the right time to confess that I hate coriander, too.
People think I'm crazy (my ex's stepfather would have nothing of it and put especially much on my plate), but now I can point to thelibran and say "He says so, too! Ha-HA!"
There are a lot of foods I avoid because I dont enjoy them as much as other foods...picky i dunno.
I hate tomatoes though. Because they are evil. My favorite food is boiled artichoke flavored with butter. I dunno about picky, maybe just a pain in the arse.
Oh, yeah, I cook the same type of thing a lot. Chicken and rice is just so easy, and if your creative good. Just add some garlic and all kinds of other spices and seasonings and how can you go wrong.
Being in the moment people noticed that I buy a lot of cirtain stuff when I go grocery shopping and therefore eat the same things a lot...but it is easy, I know it, and is relatively healthy. Unless butter is involved. I love salty, spicy is ok but nothing I really desire.
Fruit and vegatables spoil so quickly and were to sporratic to plan meals out.
"I dunno about picky, maybe just a pain in the arse" Now I wouldn't quite say that!!! LOL
Obviously variety is the spice of life though!! Wonder where that leaves Al...I hear Scorpios will try anything!! hehehe
Can't wait to try all those wonderful delights....oh and by the way, Im planning on going to Venice, Rome, Spain, Europe....ahhh yes, really looking forward to it....wonder if I can fit in the USA....looking at October/November....ahhh yes in time for all those Libran birthdays *laffs*
Chatz - I'll eat anything although I was a lot more picky (about meat especially) when I was younger. I don't care too much about what I eat - my relationship with food is slightly weird. But I LOVE coriander - a favourite amongst herbs.
As regards the variety - I am afraid I can eat the same thing every day too but then all of a sudden I'll get a brain wave and make an effort. I prefer to go out for food altogether so that I don't have to tidy up afterwards. I always feel that I don't have a lot of time for mundane tasks, like cooking - because I might forget to enjoy the moment and then where was I? In the kitchen of all places...
Pottering in the kitchen around Sunday lunch time is fun though.
Isn't this weird? I tend to eat the same things too.
I eat Vietnamese Pho soup almost every day for lunch, from the same restaurant, and have been for months and months. I usually eat Korean dumplings for dinner when I am forced to make something. That or zoodles. (hee hee!)
Although I did have ice-cream for dinner the last two nights. hee hee!
I generally eat out though. I HATE cooking and HATE cleaning up.
Yep....haven't travelled much before apart from in Oz so yesssssss, finally!!!! Im not sure about Leos being fussy re: food...I will try anything (unless it is alive) and have very few issues with food (except liver and brussel sprouts) 🙂
I don't think that it is necessarily a Libra thing, as I generally eat the same thing all the time, too. I could probably blow some these Libras out of the water in obsessive compulsive eating habits. I literally can and have had the same meal 3 times a day for a couple of weeks and still wanted it for another. But, not so much in the last 12+ months (after attempting to obtain a more well-balanced, healthy life style ). Though, Nic does keep putting weird cravings in my mind...
But, you have to take into account that fast and tasty doesn't exactly leave you with a whole lot of options. If and when I get enough time to actually cook (among other things that would remotely resemble having a life, something I am slowly but surely working towards achieving), given the cooking background I grew up with, I seriously doubt that would be the case. Though, we do all have our "comfort" foods...
"I hate tomatoes though. Because they are evil."
And, for the record, tomatoes are NOT evil, you little heretic!!! I am going to hide them in your blackberry cobbler... 😛
"Obviously variety is the spice of life though!! Wonder where that leaves Al...I hear Scorpios will try anything!! hehehe"
When I was a child, I was rather unwilling to try anything new, and had it not been for my mother's rule of having to eat a little something of everything on the table (whether you like it or not) I would have probably never ventured out of my "safe zone". Now, given the opportunity, I am generally willing to try anything, but I most of the time I am not of the state of mind to go looking for something to try. The opportunity would need to pose itself first. If I go to a restaurant that I know, then I will more than likely order something that I know that I like and that they cook well. That being said, I don't mind trying a bite of someone else's to see if it is good. I merely do not like the thought of having an entire meal that sucks. If at a new restaurant, I am far more likely to try something new for my own meal...
On my own, I tend to be much more of a creature of habit. With others, I tend to be far more willing, and even perhaps happy, to venture out from under my rock. Hmmm, odd I suppose...
******ooooh a violent angry Libran!!!! woooohooooo***** I remember it bcoz i hardly gets angry or even raise my voice. Felt a lot guilty that day. 😢
We eat the same thing bcoz we are lazy to think about the possible options in front of us and then make up our mind on what to eat. Amount of time taken vs time in hand. taste vs comfort, potential stomach problems, money in hand, unfamiliar atmospheres, all these small small factors gets calculated and have to be balanced before we try to eat something. So we do the calculation once for a food item and stick on to that for long since we are lazy to waste time calculating so much.
OMG is all I can say...if that is the way you handle just deciding on what to eat, one can only imagine how you spend the rest of your day.....what shoes to wear, what socks to wear...OMG does this match, does that match...OMG hard work!!!!
LOL
Nah, all to their own...Im just way too easy going I think - yes I know, Im a Leo, we are meant to be hard work....I told you, Im weird!!!!
I think I will have ... Pho soup for lunch today. 🙂
I really am not sure how much laziness is involved. I really crave this soup most of the time. I just love it. I have even gone to my work neighbourhood on the weekend just to get it. Yummmy, yummmy, yummmy.
I tend to like soups and things with a lot of sauce ... my mom calls it wet food. hee hee hee!
* I don't mind trying a bite of someone else's to see if it is good. I merely do not like the thought of having an entire meal that sucks. I second that. The complications involved in making second choice and then waiting it to be served alone makes me think same food be better than being adventurous.
***OMG is all I can say...if that is the way you handle just deciding on what to eat, one can only imagine how you spend the rest of your day.....what shoes to wear, what socks to wear...OMG does this match, does that match...OMG hard work!!!✨*
I got 9-12 plain(no design or logo) diff color round neck t shirts which i have been wearing every day for past 2 years. Keep buying pack of 3 every 3-6 months. Since i wear same color levis jeans everyday, i save time wondering which color can go with this. Bcoz of the complications I faced whenever I had more than one pair of shoes, I decided not to have 2 pair of shoes at any point of time last jan and stick to same shoes everyday. Basically I look the same every day and I eat the same everyother day. You wont believe how much time I have managed to save for sleeping and thinking by following this weird way of life.
anywho, I am the queen of picky... I pick through meals at other people's houses (even if it's just microwavable food...I'll still pick through it).
I was at Bob Evans yesterday - not my choice, but my brother's - and the food was just ok. Everything tasted like they just put in the microwave seconds before and I could see the powder swirling around in my lemonade, as well as taste it between my teeth. Nice.
I also have to check the expiration dates on EVERYTHING, especially when I'm at other people's houses and it also takes me forever to eat it. I'll try any type of food once but I will be a bit cautious about it (oh jeez, that's the virgo rising talking 😢)...
I'm not really picky. I'm pretty loose when it comes to food. I JUST LOVE FOOD! The only request is that hot food is served hot, not luke warm, and cold food is served cold. Nothing worse than warm sushi! Yuck! Oh, and well done means well done. I don't like blood in my food. Other than that I'm not picky. I'm a pig! =)
**especially when I'm at other people's houses and it also takes me forever to eat it.***
I will give all sorts of excuses to avoid eating from other peoples house who dont know me much. Esp if his/her mom is cooking. If its a place where i feel comfortable to talk, I confess my pickyness and though they dont understand it, they will try to help me out by cooking in my ways 😉
