I took some grad level Islam courses my last semester of college, and had a very very knowledgeable professor who had lived in the Middle East.

He had a theory that Osama had been killed in the Tora Bora battle. He pointed to the last shuttle explosion and the fact there was an Israeli astronaut on it, but there was no statement released from Osama.

Yeah I don't think a professor has any business discussing his personal shit and "pointing out" his conspiracy theories. What kind of professors do you have teaching in your schools anyway? No wonder these days, even the truth is a conspiracy theory.

Then he should focus on terrorism and stick to the facts, not start throwing wild theories around. How unprofessional!

So basically he could be standing there for days rambling about all the different conspiracy theories, instead of focusing on what the course is about-- and I assume it's not about conspiracy theories? I mean imagine if they did that in history class, we'd never get to the actual history part! lol

I remember many years ago we had a feminist professor in Gender Studies who used the course as her personal sounding board, unleashing her own baggage onto the students. Needless to say, she's not teaching anymore.

Critical thinking is about sorting between the sources that are available. A professor is not a source.
