this is similar to quoting narcos it's like when someone introduces you to a band and you say I've heard of them and they try to argue that they discover them first

To me it does have a heavier connotation since I grew up in Medellin/Colombia during Escobar's terror.

I'm actually writing a book at the moment, just not about that specific happening. It does make reference to it though, indirectly.
