First of all I never liked Paula Deens personality--it seemed fake to me. I still don't care for her or her fat-rich food. I don't care what all the Paula Deen's fans think about me saying that! Second, who cares that she said some racial slurs? Alot of folks do it. Doesn't make it right but that's the true reality. I really try not to because I have children and I don't want them growing up thinking that's the right thing to do. I heard she admitted to doing it long ago? Why even admit to it? Maybe she thought she was such a hugh star that it wouldn't matter? Perhaps she thought it would add to her "realness"? Real stupid...

Just my thoughts and opinions people...lol!

Just to be fair here...how many times have we heard African Americans use the term "whitey"?

And you never hear any backlash against the African American using that term, or anyone being fired.

Recently the actor who was in the recent slavery movie...the name of it escapes me, at the opening of

Saturday Night Live he said "he got to kill a lot of white folks in the movie"

Why is that acceptable but her saying what she said is not??

What she said was not that bad and reflects the old south way of thinking...

I say "GIVE HER A BREAK" IT WAS ONE OF THOSE OFF THE CUFF, TONGUE IN CHEEK COMMENTS.

I LIKE PAULA..I DON'T SEE HER AS FAKE AT ALL..IN FACT SHE'S VERY "TELL IT LIKE IT IS"...REAL.

What I think is hilarious is that Food Network hires this bag who looks, sounds, and cooks like an ignorant hillbilly.

Then they fire her when she...surprise...acts like an ignorant hillbilly.

However much I don't care for her fake self, I don't agree that she should have been fired.

Food network is a private corporation, they can hire and fire who they please.

People forget that freedom of speech does not equate to freedom from consequences, especially in the private sector.

I didn't say they couldn't fire whomever they please; I just don't think her actions warrant it.
