It means that society as a whole has been dragged so far left in the last 30 years, that a liberal in 1980 would be a right wing nut job by today's standards.

Maybe economically..

But definitely not socially.

We'll have to disagree.

The fact that you still see as much hate towards minorities as you did in the 70-80's is enough to show that the US has failed to grow socially.

Which democrat in 1980-2000 would have fought for same sex marriage?

Zero is the answer.

We come a loooonnnngggg way.

Sure.. We've taken 2 steps forward.

Trump's rhetoric will take us 3 step backwards. You can't deny that.

Why can't I? You yourself said he was a liar.

Everyone says he's been a liberal all his life --- when it suits them.

The same people say he is the GOP Devil --- when it suits them.

No one knows what he is -- including me.

He's a business man.

Hey.....you said it.

"If you honestly believe that Trump is telling the truth, you haven't done your research."

So is he going to take us back to the stone age, or is he lying?

The two aren't correlated at all.

Is he liberal, or conservative?

Anyway, I will vote for Trump.

I personally don't like him, however he represents something bigger than my personal tastes the way I see it.

I hope he destroys the entire farce of a system.

Barney Frank maybe.
Then again, his boyfriend was running a male prostitution ring or some such thing.

The problem with Hilary is the way she handled the Benghazi situation.

That's probably true but that's mostly political and much ado about nothing. According to this article (http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2014/may/12/john-garamendi/prior-benghazi-were-there-13-attacks-embassies-and/), under George W. Bush, there were 13 such attacks during his administration. Why weren't they investigated to the nth degree.

The thing that it highlights for me is that one of things Hillary is running on is 'experience' and that she 'gets the job done.' What experience?? Her appointment as Secretary of State was a political appointment because the Democratic Party wanted to burnish her credentials as a Presidential candidate. They didn't allow her to make any decisions. Trump called her ''the worst Secretary of State in our history." While that is hyperbole, she didn't really do anything.

Good point. The way I see it it's pretty much going to be Trump against Clinton. But it'd be pretty ironic since Bill Clinton will be in the white house again. Just not as a president.
