Don't over think it! You don't want to lose hair from stress, to say the least. I think it's normal to lose hair every day. No need to count the strands.
And yes, as we get older, and any changes, especially hormonal changes, can stimulate hair growth / loss. I'm sure you are fine gem!!

Do you color, blow dry, use a lot of product on your hair?
Also, when was the last time you had it trimmed?
It may be that it's breaking-- not coming out.
Believe it or not, trimming it regularly keeps that from happening-- esp if you like to keep it long.

My best bet is to see your doctor you could be suffering alopecia, are you going through stressβ_.sometimes they give you steroid creams??_but thats
usually just to spread over a bald patch I'm not sure how they go about hair thats thinning??_.
does it come out mostly in the shower? or are you constantly running your fingers through your hair trying to brush out the strays? you may have trichotillomania where you play with your hair and pull it out during stressful times..
perhaps you could use a different shampoo and conditioner one that has less chemicals I use Alchemy, its expensive but I like spending lots of money on
hair and body products with exotic ingredients lol??_.There are a lot of chemicals in shampoos used today and it may have a good affect on your hair but it
may have a bad affect on your scalp make sure you invest more in scalp massage because its good to stimulate and get the blood around that area

How long is your hair now?
I've had bad hair fall ever since I can remember. Nope, not bald yet! Previous SO's and the current one always comment on the insane clumps they pick up when they clean, though. π

Make sure you're getting enough nutrients. 5'1 and 85lbs is pretty underweight, when I was a very low BMI my hair started falling like crazy. I was intentionally losing the weight through unhealthy means, so that might not be the answer you're looking for and it may not be the case, but just double check what you're eating and it might help a little. π

Do you know why you lost so much weight? It could be a health issue. 85 is not healthy at all. I'm 5'2 and 95 pounds and I know I need to do something about my weight, myself. I couldn't imagine being 85 pounds. Anyway, if you lost weight for no reason you could have a health issue that caused that and is causing your hair loss. I also have hair loss issues right now and I'm thinking it's either because of stress or thyroid issues. Maybe you can check out information on what thyroid problems can cause and see if it makes sense at all. There could be numerous other reasons though.

I had a period of a few months when I was losing lots of hair. One of my favorite hairdressers told me to take 500 mg of Biotin per day. It did the trick and I saw the effects very quickly. Give it a shot.
Otherwise, cutting your hair a bit shorter can also help.
People who've said to be careful about getting a proper balance of nutrients also have a great point.
Also, be careful about the products you're using. Some products can make hair fall out even and others not. I haven't found that it's in any way price based (i.e. it's not because they're expensive that they're necessarily better). It's just individual reaction to various chemicals. Keep it in mind and see if certain products are more likely to cause your particular hair loss.

it's about waist length π
I suspect that this might be the reason of this hair loss ..π’
not bald yet..good for you! π hehehe
Probably a big reason. Mine's to around my hip bone. When I spontaneously cut my hair into a slanted bob years ago, the hair fall also went down by a lot. Apart from all the really nice suggestions, I would also say to not style the hair so much. Even putting my hair in a ponytail results in more hair breakage, I noticed. Also, skip a day or two between hair washing? Less stress for the scalp.

i'm losing hair by the minute π

Well, 50-60 is within the normal range of hairs to lose in a day, but based on your ribbon description it does sound like it has thinned out.
I imagine your daily caloric intake must be pretty low, probably too low, so I don't think you are providing your body with the nutrients it needs to replace 50-60 hairs a day. I'd focus on making sure you are getting all the vitamins you need, take a supplement if you must. That's why a thick head of hair is suppose to be attractive; it indicates good health.
Some of the common causes:
-dramatic weight loss over a short period of time
-physical trauma/surgery
-stress
-vitamin deficiency
-hormone changes (could be triggered by the pill)
-pregnancy

hehehe I think I'm healthy lol.. I get physical check ups and I'm good..I guess, just petite frame..in fact when I was living in the state, it was very hard for me to find fitting clothes..different body structures is my guess (so sometimes I had to go to teen brands malls lol ah!)click to expand

I don't want to make it seem like I'm completely against you or trying to make this a big deal but it is unhealthy and has nothing to do with body structure. I too wear very small clothes and often times 'smalls' do not fit me. However, if you do a simple search on the Internet for the 'effects of being underweight', there's tons of links with information on side effects. Hair loss, weaker immune system, heart and circulatory issues, and also irritability and trouble focusing on more than one conversation or thing. Do you get regular blood exams to check for low nutrients, anemia, or thyroid problems? Idk what kind of check ups you get but my check ups involve my doctor doing things like checking my heart beat and bp, feeling for certain organ abnormalities and other stuff that would not be able to determine if I had anything wrong inside my body or blood. What if they only way to stop the hair loss was to gain weight? Many people seem to think being underweight is okay, especially compared to being obese, but both have adverse side effects. I'm surprised your doctor doesn't talk to you about it. You can try these other suggestions, but perhaps you should ask your doctor anyway about all the possible causes. He/s

Biotin is a B vitamin that is sometimes referred to as vitamin H or vitamin B7. It is one of the eight vitamins in the vitamin B-complex. It is known to promote a healthy nervous system, skin, eyes, hair, liver and a healthy mouth.
Taking 500 mcg per day should be sufficient. You don't want to overdose on it. Some say that you can go up to 2500 mcg per day, but why risk it?
You can buy it at any health food store, GNC, or even your nearest pharmacy.click to expand

I think I'm losing way too many hair per day
I haven't really counted how many (yet)
but it seems..I could roughly sum up around.. 50-60?
I'm not sure but from somewhere(some source..) I heard that it's normal to lose about 50 hair per day
(please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here..I'm feeling too lazy tonight to do research/google lol)
I used to have lots of hair..on my head
say, usually needed two or three ribbons to do my hair compare to other girls only needed one
but now..
even one ribbon would be too much.. π lol
maybe it's natural to lose more hair as one ages??
or more hair loss when one's hair is long? (mine is about waist length)
one reason I could come up as to why this hair loss of recent is happening is:
I have lost some weight.. 110lbs to 85lbs..
but then it was years ago when that happened.. and I did not go on a diet..it just happened
and I was actually over eating..eating quite much for my frame back then losing the weight.. (my height is 5'1)
maybe I should cut my hair short?
actually it's a real pain in the ass that picking up hair after shower, combing..and just in the morning and evening..the hair is everywhere! and gets, sticks on my neat wears..scarves..it's annoying :/
is it normal to lose hair like this 50-60 a day?
if not, what can be done about this? prevent excessive hair loss?
