imaginary playground

Out of curiosity, as a child did you have an imaginary playground in your head?

I used to play in a way that I would lay down (don't get dirty minded) and activate my imaginary playground in my head, I'd simply visualize my play-rooms. Well more like big halls.

In one I had a big space ship which crew was mostly consisted of various Rock stars that I liked (Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper etc.), Joker, Batman and we would sail through the Space and hang out.

In another hall I had a space ship exactly as the one from the movie "The Last Navigator". That one was to cruse through Space on my own, had a great time.

Also I was the captain of one pirate ship...ahh so many adventures! 😄

These visualizations were strong and I would lost myself completely in them. Talked about it with my friends few days ago and guess that non of them was practicing this sort of play as a child, how about you?

As a child? I still do it.

The perks of having a vivid imagination.

Yeah I used to play around and make imaginary sports leagues. I would commentate as I swung the bat in my yard. I would also shadowbox and commentate like Jim Lampley back in the day.

Aye, me too, although now I tend to write down stories out of it. I remember my mother would enter my room seeing me just lying down..are you ok? Yup, just playing! Oook...as you say 😕

When I would actually play I was more interested in building the whole setting and planning the scenario then in the play itself.

Once I took my brother's He-man and I actually built him a house out of small pebbles and "plant" some "olive trees" in his yard, put a bench where he can chill 😄 My bro was standing there with his overly protected Skeletor watching me silently.

Yup, lucy I am all about the scenario as well.

Even now I can stay in the house and conjure up fantasies and people and create the whole environment around it. I daydream way too much...to the point where my whole life might be a dream.

It's certainly interesting.

Hehe sounds familiar!

I have many stories sketched down on the paper, as well a comic books. Some are more developed then the other, some I know I won't finish ever, but I still write them. All are products of my daydreaming. I have to let it out!

People tend to get irritated sometimes when they caught me in my daydreaming act, but it happens rather spontaneously. For example: I am having a lunch with my family. Some serious discussion is going on, if there is a moment, a tiny little moment for my mind to slip away,then off I go. I am not here, I don't listen - I am lost and far away (reminds me of that female character in "Rango")Then my brother calls:
Hey, you heard what I said?
I am staring blankly 😕 hm?
What?!Are you saying you were sitting here all this time and haven't catch a word?!
Ugghh..sorry... I simply drift off

Me too! Even the weather, the scent around the room, the decorations, what everyone's saying. 😄

When I was a kid, I imagine being a pirate princess! I'd imagine I'm in a ship with stormy weather and bracing it!

I used to make little acorn cups and twig together leaves and petals for imaginary outdoor friends - very Wind in the Willows hehehe

Indeed! Those were the days! I also remember wanting to be an alchemist! I also spent most of my time watching the clouds and reading books.

I used to watch a shit load of TV and movies when I was a kid but I still had a healthy imagination. I would have full blown conversations with news anchors and cartoons before I could even speak. I would also spend some time talking to myself in the mirror and to my imaginary friends and at night I could always see shadow people walking around my room but they weren't scary.

I remember on sesame st there was an episode where they built a playground and I would just drool over that playground and wanted nothing but to play at that playground it was like the best playground everrrr...
