Which would you choose for an animal(spiritual) guide...

I'm tempted for a bird, a bird of prey could help feed me, comfort me and always return, respect family...
A wild cat (Cougar, Mtn Lion) could also assist and protect, but they leave their brood given their independence...
A Wolf is another option... we know they are loyal, but only to an extent, at some point they (the males in particular) tend to move on...

When I was in 6th grade, it was the Raven - speaks volumes as to why I would say bird first I suppose...

Whom would you choose as your spiritual guide?

LOL re: zombies and lemmings! Thank you for the post Lildol. Great question. Totems have much to give us. ??In my experience, they choose us-each with a message, medicine or teaching that we need or will help us.—?Some are with us through our lives,??others come briefly with a message we need in the moment. ??We can recognize our totems by them appearing to us - showing up frequently through our lives or in a particular way that catches our attention; they can come to us in dreams; and they can be something for which we have had a lifelong (or newly discovered) affinity (or aversion as is sometimes the case with shadow totems). ??We can also seek them out in journeys or meditations. ??There is a lot of info online for totems, although a study of their natures/teachings in biological studies/texts and your own interactions with them (in life, dreams, meditations) can provide many insights. Some teachings from a few??guides for me are:

Wolf-I don't have to remain a "lone wolf" - being part of a community does not mean I must give up my individuality; that individuality brings diversity and strength to the pack. ??With that said, being a part of a community also means responsibility to that community-I no longer can just consider my wants/needs/welfare. And I can choose, pack (and the responsibility and bene's) or solo.

Owl-seeing beyond what others show or seek to portray (i.e., "night vision",??that which others hide or may not yet even see themselves).

Eagle-vision from high above (i.e., "the big picture" and not getting lost or hung up with the details).

Need to get some sleep, so I will leave it at that for now. ??Best wishes to you in connecting with your guides. And I am off to dream of zombies and lemmings! 🙂
