I've never heard of this tradition. And now I know this year is a leap year too.

Where did you hear this??

We have some interesting "old wives tales" like, if there is a fog ring around the moon, it means it will snow in two weeks... Or if there is thunder in winter it means it will snow in two weeks.
It's an old Irish tradition that dates back to the 5th century decreed by St. Patrick. Some people still do it today.

Interesting subject... I'm also curious about persons who are born on the 29th, they only celebrate their birthday officially every 4 years, of course some choose to celebrate the day after or before, and for "legal" reasons. Anyone here is a "leap-year baby"?

Sorry for hijacking your topic truecap 😛
No problem! It's a Leap Year subject afterall and Leap year birthdays are interesting too.
