The concept reminds me of a childhood fav Simpsons episode where Lisa’s daughter uses the internet in the future except it’ll probably be a VR headset. Go to 3:24 & 4:12.

Brothels were a thing of the past. But watch out Tinder, you might be getting a more sophisticated competition that won’t even require going out!:

Astrologically speaking we can thank Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto pushes whatever sign it’s in to the MAX intensity. That implies you can expect to see the internet and artificial intelligence on steroids.

March - June 2023 glimpse of Pluto in Aquarius

January 2024 - Pluto officially in Aquarius

All this is happening in the imminent future. Are you ready? Will you partake in it and try to understand it or shun it like how a lot of our parents/grandparents' generation shun today's modern technologies?

We already live in VR. Look around you the walking dead.

It can definitely feel that way with all the social media obsession, superficiality and commercialization of everything. They’re all so anxiety inducing and toxic. It really feels good to be able to avoid those kind of things whenever I can. I’m always struggling with wanting to be up to date with all the latest technology cause of the feeling of either being on board or getting left behind when it often actually all feels too overwhelming and unnatural.

Ray Kurzweil's predictions for the 2030's will blow you mind.

Kurzweil predicts that humans will become hybrids in the 2030s. That means our brains will be able to connect directly to the cloud, where there will be thousands of computers, and those computers will augment our existing intelligence. He said the brain will connect via nanobots -- tiny robots made from DNA strands.

"Our thinking then will be a hybrid of biological and non-biological thinking," he said. The bigger and more complex the cloud, the more advanced our thinking. By the time we get to the late 2030s or the early 2040s, Kurzweil believes our thinking will be predominately non-biological.

We'll also be able to fully back up our brains.

Kurzweil, who is known as one the world's leading inventors, has predicted what the future will look like before. In the '90s, he made 147 predictions for 2009. In 2010, he reviewed his predictions, 86% of which were correct. He gave himself a "B" grade.

Black Mirror episodes coming to reality very soon huh. I think that kind of technology will definitely take much longer than he predicts cause I been waiting for my Google Glass for years....

I'm not a luddite, but stuff which can read your thoughts is scary shit.

Dw, there’s still a long way before that specifically happens. I would say concerns around escapism from reality to VR could become the next debilitating addiction among children and adults on a whole other level.

Elon Musk has been talking about it for a few years now. Pretty sure they could release a prototype tomorrow.

Are you talking about Neuralink? It's funny because Musk strongly views artificial intelligence as an existential threat to humanity that could cause ww3.

VR isn't going to get that far advanced in the near future. Take a look at gaming consoles and now imagine powering something smaller that requires higher pixel density and better graphics to fool you.

There's also visual components not related to resolution, like the eyes vergence and accommodative system. Eye tracking pretty much sucks in VR.

Companies will abandon VR once augmented reality tech gets better.

Source: I own pretty big patents in VR and eyetracking. Consulted for Oculus and Samsung.
