Wind chill of -17. I am patiently waiting for the salamander to do its work. My boy is at the spigot getting water as we're on a well. Fingers crossed there will be flowing water indoors soon.
Third day off work. Got bread baked, banana bread, etc. No school.
*touching wood* Hopefully the propane holds on for heat as trucks aren't running. Times like these I would dearly love a wood burning stove.
Might melt snow for dishes instead of waiting.

No. It is the coldest it's been since the 1800s-early 1900s. Most single snow dump since 1978. State was declared emergency status. Next town over lost power and the high school and others opened as warming stations. 30-40 below zero is no joke.

Damnata, winter isn't over yet. We could still have a cold end of February. πŸ˜‰

It's funny though. I have family in Canada and some friends from Russia where they are used to -10,-20C weather. But both froze their asses off when they came here in winter with -2C weather.
It's the wind and moisture that makes it much, much colder.
