Fuck gurus, I live my life by my own rules whether they are wrong or right. As far as I'm concerned, nobody has a secret formula to life. You just live it the way you see fit, make mistakes & hopefully learn & move to the next level. We're all gurus of our own lives. Fuck those who think they know better!

I get that you've got legitimate complaints - I've got the same ones. But I'd be hesitant to generalize.
As for the vegan comment, whether it's serious or meant as tongue-in-cheek, I completely understand the push for it. I'm not vegan myself (I eat a lot of seafood and I eat other meat only sparingly), but incorporating some vegan and raw food ideas into your diet can yield substantial health benefits. I don't like the "pressure" to go vegan any more than anyone else, but I do understand why some folks make a big deal out of it.
And as for "ego", yes, it's a huge problem, especially in Western culture. Not the existence of it, but rather our poor management of it.

You're absolutely right about the ego-killing trend. Most traditions where the ego is addressed as an issue don't advocate "killing" it, because it'll always be there. It's how we perceive and manage it; how much employment we give to it. The ego "death" thing is a modern conceit (fake guru material), and is usually associated with a spiritually "intense" experience where it only "feels" subsumed in oneness with everything - consciousness extending outward (which is the important part.) These experiences do happen, but the "high" from them is impermanent, though it does tend to change a person.

I hate that.
And really, I see nothing wrong with appealing to tradition, especially with respect to established methods and practices. It's very grounding, and it keeps one from over-innovating. When it comes to practices, colouring too far outside the lines can lead to serious (mental and even physical) problems.

Things you'll notice with spiritual folk:
- They want you to go Vegan
-Worship the Divine Feminine to an obsessive degree.
- Mention/Worship gods/goddesses from Hindu, yet say they're not religious
-Blame Ego for your negative emotions and pain
- Try to push love as everything and say if you let the love out freely you'll be okay.
They rub my Uranus/Neptune energies so bad...yet can't really put into coherent words why.

Just curious, whats your opinion on divine feminine energy?

Posted by The_eleventh_sign_11
do you ever invoke the goddess?
I think your spirit may be trying to tell you something if all these things are rubbing your anus the wrong way it could be you need to evolve and resurface from the masculine divine you may be swimming in??_..mind you I don't mind being drenched in testosterone laden man sweat now and then its just that It can get rough and hard to navigate the treacherous seas.
When I was younger I tuned my nose up at a lot of things that I perceived as weak but it turned out they were essential for me to learn how to not be an asshole which I was.
Its amazing how much our society is balancing itself out now, everyones becoming more comfortable with their sexuality, people are a lot less afraid of empowered women, awareness and compassion towards animal cruelty in on the rise and the consciousness of unconditional love is surfacing.
all this and your anus is itching??_.its a sign embrace the fact that your a tranny

I think none, because what usually spiritual people do are repressing their humanness. Real spiritual people are independent people. They are not afraid of their emotions, they don't shut themselves down from feelings and entire world. They let themselves feel, because that's how they accept themselves for being who they really are. Humans.

The alternative is guru-dome, and all gurus are corrupt. It's wrong to allow a young and impressionable person to —imprint?? on you without at some point kicking them away into adulthood, self-responsibility, and individuated identity. Gurus, as far as I can tell, don't do that. The relationship is expected to be permanent, with the —guru?? constantly elevated and in judgement of the —student.?? I use quotes because the roles are universal, the guru can be counselor, influential teacher, business leader, or even parent; the student a pupil, follower, child, or even customer. In the best case scenario, the student never fully trusts their own judgement and perceptions of the world. In the worst case scenario, the guru abuses of the student (financially, sexually, or in other vampiric ways).
